This is March.

After the first two days of The Players Championship looked and felt suspiciously like weather from its previous May date, this weekend should resemble March, with cooler temperatures and stronger winds in the forecast.

With a tremendous leaderboard ready to roll, let’s take a look at my three favorite matchup bets for Saturday’s third round.

Kevin Kisner over Jim Furyk (-110)

1:10 p.m. ET

Frankly, I was surprised to the odds post this matchup at essentially a coin flip. That seems like an overreaction to Furyk's bogey-free 64 on Friday. Expect some negative regression after that stout round, while Kisner has some unfinished business after his playoff loss here four years ago.

Jason Day over Ian Poulter (-125)

1:10 p.m. ET

Maybe people were worried about getting burned again after Day’s first-round withdrawal last week, but he was remarkably low-owned in DFS — and I’m guessing he wasn’t on too many betting cards, either. After receiving four (!) cortisone shots coming into this week, he’s looked healthy so far. Even with Poulter riding a season-long heater, I’ll take a (temporarily) healthy Day in this one.

J.T. Poston over Abraham Ancer (-105)

12:50 p.m. ET

I would’ve been all over Poston had this been a full-tournament matchup, as he owns a much stronger record on Bermuda greens during the course of their relatively young careers. Ancer has been a nice surprise this week and I like him to potentially win a tourney sometime this summer, but Poston should be more comfortable and is the play here.
