# Can Pat McAfee Score More Than 23.5 Cornholes in 5 Minutes?

Sep 26, 2018 10:38 PM EDT
• MyBookie.ag is posting "Beat Pat McAfee" challenges, with this week's being a cornhole challenge.
• McAfee has five minutes to throw as many beanbags as he can and the over/under is set at 23.5 cornholes.
• Given McAfee's athleticism and love of the sport, Marky believes he can go over the lofty expectation.

I recently noticed a “Beat Pat McAfee” odds section offered by MyBookie.ag. McAfee is of course the former Indianapolis Colts All-Pro punter.

At the time, you could bet on whether Pat could throw over or under 6.9 (nice) footballs into a trash barrel from 30 yards away in five minutes. Luckily, I have 20/20 hindsight and can confirm that the under was a lock, as he wound up with two.

Back in the day, buzzed on the outdoor basketball courts at Bryant University at 2 a.m., my friends and I also attempted to throw a football into a trash can from a similar distance. It took a long time.

Pat has a new challenge this week and redemption will definitely be on his mind.

How many cornholes will Pat McAfee get in 5 minutes?

• Over 23.5: -130
• Under 23.5: -110

Cutoff time for bets is Thursday at 10 a.m. ET.

From what I’ve gathered in my initial research, McAfee’s nickname might as well be Cornholio.

If you Google “Pat McAfee cornhole,” multiple pages of results come back. He’s seemingly in love with this lawn game.

Freaking impressive.

Prop analysis using math and brains

All right, so 23.5 is the number. He has five minutes, meaning he’d need almost five per minute to go over. Three hundred seconds divided by 24 cornholes equals an average of one cornhole per 12.5 seconds.

I honestly believe he can fire off the beanbags at a three- to four-second clip. He was throwing the footballs rather rapidly, and that motion and the accompanied effort required are much harder than tossing a beanbag. He will also tire less toward the end considering the less strenuous nature of the sport.

You saw the video above. This guy can put a bean bag wherever he so chooses. I’m guessing he can hit at a 50% rate, and if he can toss 15-20 beanbags per minute, he’ll end up with 75-100 total tosses.

HAMMER THE OVER!

Even if he hits at a 40% rate and throws 60 bean bags, which is just one per five seconds, he will get 24 cornholes — which is just enough to cash the over. I think that would be on the low end for sure.

We could be looking at a 50-cornhole performance if the stars align, so there is plenty of value on this over at the current number.

In fact, you can bet on the exact number of cornholes he gets, and there is a 27 or more option priced at +380. Mad value right there.
