AUGUSTA, Ga. – Just about every Augusta afternoon in April is brilliantly gorgeous, but this particular Sunday, as the clock ticks past noon on April 12, feels especially stunning – and that feeling only multiplies once you’re inside the front gates of Augusta National Golf Club for the final round of the 84th Masters Tournament.
The world isn’t just safe and sound on this gorgeous spring day, it feels perfect.
The azaleas are in full bloom, the dogwoods are faintly swaying from the gentlest of breezes and the sun is beaming down enough to warm the temperature to a sparkling 76 degrees.
The world’s greatest golf tournament, on the world’s greatest golf course, has been ceremoniously blessed by the world’s greatest golf weather.
Lucky you. You’ve secured a single badge for this round, your first time ever walking the hallowed grounds of Augusta National – and it should prove to be an historic afternoon.
Adorned in your newly purchased Masters hat and polo shirt, sucking down a $4 beer and pimento cheese sandwich, you head toward the first tee armed with a tee sheet full of hope and promise.
The final three twosomes read like a who’s who of superstar golfers over the past two decades, a scintillating collection of players representing the past, present and future of golf, each of whom will be vying for a green jacket today.
You look down at the sheet for probably the hundredth time in the past hour, trying to reach a verdict about which group you plan to watch.
The clock is ticking. You need to claim your territory. It’s finally decision time, so pick the group you’d like to watch for the afternoon and click to continue:
