Two days of round-robin play are in the books at the WGC-Dell Match Play Championship and now players are in survive-and-advance mode for Friday’s matches.

After a 2-0-1 day betting ‘dogs on Thursday (and yes, a 0-1-0 record betting over favorite named Tiger as a bonus pick), I’m sticking with lower-ranked players for Friday.

Jordan Spieth over Bubba Watson (-125)

You’ll notice I wrote “lower-ranked players” and not “underdogs” above.

Two days ago, with Spieth mired in a season-long struggle and Watson defending his title, the line probably would’ve been reversed. Now, though, Bubba has looked fairly disinterested, while Spieth is starting to put some things together.

Even though he isn’t the ‘dog here, I still think he’s the right pick.

Marc Leishman over Bryson DeChambeau (-110)

Leishman is a tough out in this format, because he just doesn’t make many mistakes. At 2-0-0 so far, he knows he can clinch the group with a win or tie (no halves, remember!), which should serve as some pretty strong motivation. Another line that probably moved a bit toward our guy, but I still think it holds some value.

Webb Simpson over Francesco Molinari (+145)

Maybe it’s not smart to take anyone these days over the world-beater Molinari, who already owns a 2-0-0 record this week. But that’s a big number for Simpson. I think there’s value here, as he tries to stay alive for the weekend.
