Barstool Sportsbook Promo Code ACTNEWS1000 Nets $1,000 for CFB Friday
Barstool Sportsbook’s promo code ACTNEWS1000 nabs a $1,000 risk-free bet for any game on the slate — college football or otherwise.
Let’s dive into an example to explain the promo further.
Promo Example: East Carolina-Cincinnati
Books vary all their promotional lingo. In order to clarify this promotion, let’s look at how it could play out by determining a bet first.
East Carolina-Cincinnati Bet Preview
Here’s a peak into how Keg, our NCAA Football expert, is betting this game via his Friday Night Lights column:
Both of these teams have improved nearly every week as the season has progressed. However, there are two continuous issues for the Bearcats that I believe will cost them this game.
Cincinnati has struggled when it comes to third-down conversions as well as Finishing Drives. The Bearcats rank ninth among 11 AAC teams in red-zone offense and come in at 75th in Finishing Drives. They’re also converting just 37.7% of third-down attempts.
ECU, meanwhile, leads the AAC in third-down conversions, reaching the marker 50.8% of the time. Its defense will also make things difficult in the red zone for the Bearcats, as the Pirates come in at 37th in Defensive Finishing Drives.
The Pirates offense isn’t great in that area, ranking 72nd in Finishing Drives, but it should expose a Cincinnati defense that comes in at 59th.
Pick: East Carolina +3
Betting With ACTNEWS1000
Alright, so how does this $1,000 risk-free offer work? Let’s dive in.
You’ll be refunded in free bets whatever you lost on your first bet, should your first bet lose.
Let’s say I bet $100 on ECU moneyline at +180 against Cincinnati on Friday night.
If ECU wins, I’ll pocket $180 and keep the original $100. If ECU loses, I get back $100 in Barstool bonus cash.
Betting With ACTNEWS150
There’s another code available only for NFL games — ACTNEWS150. That gets you $150 in free bets when you bet at least $20 on any NFL game. But it’s NFL only, so you’d have to wait until Sunday.
Alright, so let’s say I bet $40 on the Lions moneyline, which is priced at +128 at the time of this writing. This is what happens:
- Lions win: I’d win $51.20, keep my original $40. I also get the $150 in bonus cash and hold a grand total of $241.20
- Lions lose: I still have $150 in bonus cash.
Try looking at a visual:
|Bet||Profit||Money in Acct.|
|Lions win||$51.20 + $150||$241.20|
|Lions lose||$150 in bonus cash||$150 bonus cash|
What is Bonus Cash?
Bonus cash is exclusively used for betting, not withdrawing.
However, Barstool is unique because if your bet hits, your bonus cash turns into real cash along with your profits. Most books don’t allow this.
I’ve listed a few picks from the Saturday slate you can consider to use your bonus cash on; this is if you’d like to break up you bonus cash into $50 increments.
I’ve also indicated mock results to illustrate how this would unfold.
|Virginia ML (W)||+155||$77.50|
|Purdue ML (L)||+195||$0|
|Arizona State ML (W)||+230||$115|
We also keep the $50 for both bets that won. So we add the $100 in bonus cash to $139 for a total of $239 to use.
Bonus Cash Strategy
Just like the above, we always advise to use free bets on plus-money wagers. You may think that you are losing more, but you’re actually getting more expected value over time.
