BetMGM Bonus Code TOPACTION Draws $1K First Bet for Tuesday MLB Action, Any Other Game

BetMGM Bonus Code TOPACTION Draws $1K First Bet for Tuesday MLB Action, Any Other Game article feature image

Those looking to enhance Tuesday's 14-game MLB schedule can use BetMGM bonus code TOPACTION for up to $1,000 back in betting value.

You can bet anything up to the $1,000 mark. If your Tuesday bet loses, you will get whatever you lost back in BetMGM bonus bets. This is available to use on any games other than MLB, too. But this offer isn't live in New York nor Washington D.C.

The closest matchup slated is Red Sox-Guardians. BetMGM tabbed both at -110 on the moneyline. We'll use a pair of best bets from our MLB experts below to talk about what a first bet on the house is and how you can use bonus bets for profit, which there is a strategy for.

What's a First Bet on the House?

The Red Sox cruised into May on an eight-game win streak, but since have lost 14 of their last 15 games and have sunk back to the bottom of the competitive AL East. They've struggled with some defensive woes and lack of pitching depth. There's several bright spots offensively — namely being Alex Verdugo who's 66 hits is spearheading the club next to AL Rookie of the Year candidate Mastataka Yoshida's .312 AVG and Rafael Devers' 66 hits.

A weak AL Central has benefitted Cleveland to compete in second place at 27-32. Bats have gone dry as no one has more than 60 hits and a .260 average. It's been a struggle to string together any sort of rhythm through the first few months of the season as the Guardians haven't won more than two games in a row since their 5-1 start to the season. They are springboarding off back-to-back wins against the Twins.

OK, so let's first take a look at a pick. Anthony Dabbundo broke down the pitching disparity between Shane Bieber's regression versus James Paxton's relative consistency this season:

Shane Bieber has fallen quite far from his Cy Young in 2020, when he struck out 41.1% of hitters and had a K-BB% over 30%. It’s been a steady decline in both results and underlying stuff since then. His strikeout rate dipped to 25% last season and his Stuff+ dipped below average.

Bieber has fallen even further this year to the point where his fastball registers just an 80 Stuff+ and his strikeout rate is in the 15th percentile in MLB. The Guardians right-hander has a below-average projected ERA based on his stuff and is the worse starting pitcher in this matchup.

James Paxton had one blow-up start against the Angels, but the Red Sox lefty has seen an uptick in velocity and strikeouts since returning to the rotation. He’s given up a few too many homers thus far, but that’s noisy in small samples and now Paxton faces a lineup that is bottom three in xSLG and xwOBA in the league.

Boston is comparatively in the top 10 in most offensive categories. With the better starting pitcher and much better lineup, I’ll take Boston at -110 or better on Tuesday night in Cleveland.

Dabbundo likes Sox ML at -110. We can imagine that if we deposit $1,000 and bet on Boston. We would either net our payout our lose and get $1,000 back in bonus bets using our first bet on the house.

What About BetMGM Bonus Bets?

We'd have the bonus bets as soon as the first bet on the house settles, but let's keep to the tune of Red Sox-Guardians on Tuesday of theme's sake in this example.

Instead of looking at the spread or something with higher implied probability, we'll want to focus on a bet that will spark a healthier return with bonus bets.

Nick Shlain likes Paxton to hit his strikeouts prop of over 5.5 at -105:

James Paxton has made four starts this season so far and has a 33% strikeout percentage. He’s completed at least five innings in three of his four starts, but has only gone over this number in two of his starts.

The Cleveland Guardians don’t seem to be a good strikeout matchup for Paxton. Cleveland’s projected lineup has a combined 20% strikeout percentage against left-handed pitching this season. Only Josh Bell, Gabriel Arias and Mike Zunino have at least a 20% strikeout percentage against left-handed pitching this season.

Paxton has only completed six innings in one of his four starts so far. The combination of Paxton not working deep into games and the Guardians’ lack of heavy strikeout hitters bodes well for the under here.

Since that's not plus money, we'll add another bet of Alex Verdugo to knock a double for a same game parlay of +600, which is an optimal use for bonus bets. Verdugo leads Boston with 19 on the season and has three in his last four games.

Think of a scenario where we use $100 in bonus bets: If this SGP clears, that's $600 of real money coming back, but the bonus bets wagered are not retained. A loss would mean no profit and the bonus bets are also gone.

BetMGM Offers by State

BetMGM is back to just its $1,000 first bet on the house after having a "bet/get" promo in various sports for the last few months. But you can still lock in a profit for more than $200 with the first bet on the house, though most users won't want to go through that process.
