How BetMGM’s Bonus Code Works

We put together a guide on how the different sportsbook promos work.

It’s a two-step process for the $1,000 first bet on the house.

Step 1: Make Your First Bet

Let’s say you deposit $100 and put it all on Donovan Mitchell to post a double-double at +900.

  • If Mitchell gets a double-double, you’ll win $900 and keep the original $100 bet. The promo is effectively over now.
  • If Mitchell doesn’t post a double-double, you’ll get $100 back in bet credits.

Step 2: Using Bet Credits, if Necessary

If your first wager loses, you’ll get refunded in bet credits equal to what you lost. Easy enough.

Our preferred bet credit strategy is like we already talked about — bet at plus-money. You’ll be getting much more expected value, considering you don’t keep the bet stake BetMGM is giving you.

Let’s say you put your $100 in bet credits on Bucs moneyline at +150 against the Cowboys this Monday night.

  • If the Bucs win, you’ll profit $150, but don’t keep the $100 in bet credits. You’ll now have $150 cash in your account after depositing $100 — good for a $50 profit.
  • If the Bucs lose, your bet credits go away.

Here’s our take on Bucs-Cowboys and whyt he line might be too high:

In Week 16, an Eagles team led by Gardner Minshew dropped 34 points on them. They also struggled more than expected in Week 17 against a Titans offense led by Joshua Dobbs and missing Derrick Henry. Finally, not to overreact to one game, but they just got carved up by Sam Howell in his NFL debut. The 2022 fifth-round pick accounted for two touchdowns and 204 total yards.

And, I think we can all agree, Howell is a far cry from Brady.

The Buccaneers have seemingly hit their stride on offense in recent weeks. Brady was in vintage form the last time we saw Tampa Bay’s starters in Week 17, completing 34-of-45 passes for 432 yards and three touchdowns. The Brady-Mike Evans connection was red-hot, connecting 10 times for 207 yards and a trio of scores.

It’s felt like the Cowboys and Buccaneers have been on a collision course for a Wild Card Weekend matchup for quite some time. But what many felt would be a chip shot for Dallas now looks like a dogfight.

The early line has Tampa Bay getting three points, which at this moment, I’m a fan of. I’ll ponder taking the Buccaneers straight up as the week progresses.
