BetMGM Bonus Code TOPTAN1100 Offers 20% Deposit Match of up to $1,100 for Saturday

BetMGM Bonus Code TOPTAN1100 Offers 20% Deposit Match of up to $1,100 for Saturday article feature image

A wacky Lightning-Maple Leafs series where the victor has tallied seven in both of the first two contests shifts to Tampa Bay while the 76ers look to sweep the Nets as the only series at 3-0 Saturday. Whatever narratives strike your fancy across the NHL, NBA or any other Saturday event are available to bet with BetMGM bonus code TOPTAN1100, which gets a 20% deposit match of up to $1,100.

This means you get 20% back in bonus bets of whatever amount you first deposit at BetMGM. For example, depositing $100 would get $20 in bonus bets, $1,000 would get $200 and $5,500 would get the maximum of $1,100 back. There is a 10x rollover bonus with this offer, so every $1 in bonus bets earned means you must wager $10.

This offer is available for a limited period and it’s best in market, so it’s the optimal offer to snag for playoff betting. It’s available to use in all BetMGM states except for Massachusetts, Ohio, New York and Washington D.C. It’s also compatible to use on any ongoing Thursday event.

If you’re interested in a more straightforward offer bet, you can gain $200 in bonus bets with BetMGM bonus code ACTIONNHL, TOPACTIONNBA or ACTIONMLB with any $10 moneyline bet placed in Massachusetts or Ohio. All other BetMGM states (excluding New York and Washington D.C.) will net $100.

You’ll see the $200 (or $100) in bonus bets instantly upon betting on any team to win. So placing at least $10 moneyline on the Rangers to conquer the Devils again in Game 2 when in Massachusetts or Ohio scores an automatic $200. This value can only be bet, not withdrawn.

We did a full breakdown of how the different kinds of sign-up offers work if you want to read about deposit matches more in detail.

You can use any of these BetMGM offers on anything this weekend from NHL and NBA playoffs to MLB and the Zurich Classic. Let’s discuss how the deposit match works in more depth below.

BetMGM’s Deposit Match, Explained

We suggest you deposit the entirety of your bankroll size as it serves all the more value for you to bet with along with the 20% in bonus bets you’ll see. Suppose I deposit $1,000. I’ll have the $200 in bonus bets to wager with.

Deposit matches generally come with a rollover, which is designed to prevent you from taking the bonus cash and running. This BetMGM deal has a 10x rollover on the bonus amount. So basically you must wager 10x what you received as a bonus over your first 30 days with BetMGM.

So I need to wager 10-times that $200 in 30 days for the bonus money to become eligible for withdrawal, which is $2,000-worth in this case.

Since you win at about a .500 rate, it’s not as much money out of pocket as it sounds.

Say you place 20 different $100 bets to hit the rollover threshold. Each of these bets being NBA point spreads — all priced at -110.

  • If you go 11-9, you’ll make about $100 in profit, plus you’ll get the $200 free from BetMGM. You’ll now have $1,300 in your account off a $1,000 deposit.
  • If you go 10-10, you’ll lose about $91 from those bets, but still get the $200 in free cash for a total profit of $109.

Betting the point spreads at -110 to hit the rollover is just an example. You can bet anything as long as it’s shorter than -250 (so -240 is OK, -350 is not). We prefer plus-money in most cases. You also cannot bet on the opposite sides of the same game at BetMGM to hit your rollover requirement.

How to Use BetMGM Bonus Bets

When betting bonus bets, we advise to look for plus-money wagers. The higher the line, the more expected value you gather over time. Expected value means the margin between the real odds of something happening and the odds posted by the sportsbook.

Don’t believe us? Here are a couple of examples explaining the math on why it’s impossible get the advantage over the book by betting the favorite rather than the underdog using bet credit:

Example 1: You’ll win $20 if the $50 bet credit wins. The probability a -250 favorite wins is 71.43%.

The EV, in this case, is 71.43% x $20, which equals $14.28. So over an infinite number of bets, that $50 will be worth just $14.

Example 2: Now let’s bet a +250 underdog with a $50 bet credit.

You’ll win $125 if it wins, and you can expect the bet to win 28.57% of the time.

The EV, in this case, is 28.57% x $125, which equals $35.71. So over an infinite number of bets, that $50 will be worth $35.71.

OK, so let’s look at a bet for this weekend to imagine bonus bets with. Our senior golf expert Jason Sobel gave insight on why he thinks the Patrick Cantlay/Xander Schauffele pairing is destined for success at the Zurich Classic:

Cantlay and Schauffele are each coming into this event playing some very strong golf. If this was an individual tournament, they’d both be among the favorites. If they were paired with less-talented players, they’d still be among the favorites. Together, though, there’s even more strength in numbers. Is there value in this outright price? Not even a little bit, but this week is less about finding value and more about being realistic.

At +300 odds, if we placed $100 in bonus bets on Cantlay/Schauffele to win the Zurich, we would either profit $300 and not keep the $100. If the field wins, we profit a grand $0 and still do not keep the stake.

Quick Tip: Don’t Overreact to Trends

It’s tempting to place a bet on a team that’s hot or fade the team that’s been terrible, but you shouldn’t. Teams that are following a win are historically overvalued and vice versa.

Say the 76ers just had a blowout victory and are playing the Pistons. The oddsmakers might have a true opener of 76ers -13.5, but since they know the public will take the 76ers no matter what, they’ll open the Pistons at -14 or -14.5. This means bettors are getting an overpriced, bad number.

It also works in reverse. Teams that are rebounding from a bad loss are always undervalued. If the Pistons just stunk up the building, oddsmakers know people will perceive them negatively when placing a bet. So instead of a true +13 opening on Detroit, they’ll set it at +13.5 or even +14. Buy on bad news; sell on good news.

Signing Up at BetMGM

BetMGM has a few things you should know before you get started.

  1. You must be 21+ years old to register and bet
  2. You must be located in a BetMGM state when placing your first wager. You don’t have to live in Ohio to wager, you just have to be in the state at the time of activation and making a bet. Check out our travel betting guide for more details. You can withdraw money once you’ve already left the state (so if you were in Ohio on Monday and bet the Super Bowl, you could withdraw in your home state next Monday).
  3. You must have access to a valid deposit method. Credit card, bank account transfer and PayPal are the most popular, though some credit cards will flag gambling and not allow you to deposit.
