BetMGM U.S. Open (PGA Tour), 06/14/2023

The 123rd U.S. Open kicks off this week at Los Angeles Country Club. Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka aim for their second major title of the year, but 2022 Masters Champion Scottie Scheffler is the favorite. This is an excellent opportunity to use the BetMGM bonus code TOPTAN1500 to join the betting action.

New customers at BetMGM Sportsbook receive a 20% deposit match up to $1,500. The 20% deposit match appears in your account as bonus bets. The maximum is $1,500, so you can't deposit more than $7,500 (well you can, but you won't get any more bonus bets). If you deposit $1,000, you'll get $200 in bonus bets; $500 deposit you'll get $100, etc.

There's also a 10X rollover requirement, meaning you'll need to wager 10 times the amount of your bonus bet before withdrawing. For example, if you have a $10 bonus bet, you must bet $100. This Action Network exclusive offer is available in every BetMGM state except New York and Washington D.C.

The U.S. Open marks the third major of the season. Will we see another favorite claim a major, or will an underdog shock the field? Here is a breakdown of using bonus bets on the U.S. Open.

U.S. Open Preview & Pick: BetMGM Bonus Code

The Los Angeles Country Club hosts the U.S. Open for the first time in course history. It's also the first time in 75 years the U.S. Open returns to Los Angeles. Will that uncertainty lead to a surprise winner, or will the trend of favorites winning majors continue?

Jon Rahm entered the Masters as the favorite and took command in the final round for a four-shot victory. Brooks Koepka overcame a heartbreaking defeat at the Masters with his third PGA Championship title. Koepka is the only player to finish top-five in both majors in 2023.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has attracted much betting attention this week. Scheffler is on an unprecedented run of 15 straight top-12 finishes. That includes a pair of wins, and he enters the U.S. Open with three consecutive top-three finishes.

It's no surprise that BetMGM has Scheffler as the favorite. He's been dominating golf for months, despite struggling with the putter. Chris Murphy of the Action Network is backing Scheffler to win the U.S. Open.

I am officially putting all my chips on the table with Scottie Scheffler at 7/1. This isn’t something I normally do as I generally shop for the longshots and hope they can beat the top of the board, but this week I just have it in my mind that this will be Scottie’s major for 2023.

Scheffler has been on an absurd run of golf over the last eight months where he has no finish outside of the top 12 dating back to October. He’s been the best player in all fields from tee to green over, and it has just been the flatstick holding him back from winning more tournaments since his Players Championship title in March.

I don’t expect the putts to continue to stay out forever, and this is a week on a course where he has a little more familiarity than much of the field, where I think he can find himself back in the winner’s circle.

I am all in on Scheffler, and I’ll do everything I can to get the edge on the numbers, using the +300 boost on DraftKings for some, and spreading around for others. I will also be looking to add live if the opportunity presents itself.

Golf is an excellent opportunity to use a bonus bet because all the outright picks have value. Scheffler's price is perfect for a bonus bet, as the optimal price range is +300 to +700.

Let's say we have a $100 bonus bet for the BetMGM signup offer. We never keep a bonus bet when wagering, so we would either take home $700 in winnings or nothing with a loss.

Signing Up at BetMGM

BetMGM has a few things you should know before you get started.

  1. You must be 21+ years old to register and bet.
  2. You must be located in a BetMGM state when placing your first wager. You don’t have to live in Ohio to wager; you have to be in the state at the time of activation and making a bet. Check out our travel betting guide for more details. You can withdraw money once you’ve already left the state (so if you were in Ohio on Monday and bet on the Super Bowl, you could withdraw in your home state next Monday).
  3. You must have access to a valid deposit method. Credit cards, bank account transfers, and PayPal are the most popular, though some credit cards will flag gambling and not allow you to deposit.
