BetRivers returned to normal operations on Tuesday after undergoing maintenance for 9.5 hours in the state of New York.

The Pennsylvania-based sports betting app was "Performing a scheduled system update to ensure you get the best experience."

The system update began at 5 a.m. ET and was scheduled to be back in operation at 11 a.m. ET. The maintenance appeared to take 3.5 more hours than expected, as bettors in New York couldn't place bets or look at odds until 2:30 p.m. ET.

A BetRivers representative did not respond to a request for comment made by the Action Network.

The French Open is in Day 2 of the tournament's first round, and BetRivers likely missed an opportunity for bettors to place live bets on the matches. New York is one of the more popular tennis betting states.

Tennis stars Cori Gauff, Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz and Iga Swiatek were in action on Tuesday.

There were other sports in action Tuesday morning into Tuesday afternoon, including the U20 World Cup Round of 16 match between USA and New Zealand.

There were no baseball games on Tuesday with a first pitch before 2:30 p.m. ET.

BetRivers was the fifth-most popular sportsbook in terms of handle in New York during March of 2023, according to NYsportsday.com. BetRivers has similar handle to PointsBet as they fall below the four major sportsbooks of FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM and Caesars.

BetRivers did over $3.5 million in revenue during the month of March, which was the highest grossing month of 2023.
