Caesars Sportsbook Maryland Promo Code Offers Big Value for Monday Launch

Caesars Sportsbook Maryland Promo Code Offers Big Value for Monday Launch article feature image

Caesars Sportsbook, like other operators, will have a "soft launch" period on Monday from 2-10 p.m. ET.

This means the book will go live temporarily so Maryland's gaming department can do its final checks ahead of Wednesday's actual launch with no restrictions.

Use promo code ACTION4PICS to get $100 in free bets when you bet $20 on your first bet.

The Nuances of this Offer

This is a better offer than what Caesars is offering in all other states, but it's a little confusing. Here's how it works.

  • If your first bet on the platform is between $20 and $100, you get $100 in free bets from Caesars no matter what. We'll explain more about free bets below.
  • If your first bet is over $100, it's "on Caesars." That means if it loses, you'll be refunded in free bets an equal amount to whatever you lost. So if your first bet is $500 on the 49ers against the Cardinals and they don't cover, you'll get $500 back in free bets.

Most sportsbooks will either offer free bets or a first bet on the house — not both if you hit certain thresholds.

OK, So How Do Free Bets Work?

Free bets are almost like Caesars is spotting you, and you get to keep the winnings if the bet wins.

Let's look at an example.

Say you get $100 in free bets from Caesars and use them all on Mexico moneyline against Poland in the World Cup on Tuesday at +170.

  • If Mexico wins, you get $170 in cash, but don't keep the $100 in free bets.
  • If Mexico loses, your free bets go away.

Our Anthony Dabbundo likes El Tri on Tuesday:

From a purely fundamental perspective, Mexico should be more of a favorite than they are lined here. The match is a tossup, but Mexico’s recent form and underlying numbers through qualifying are better than Poland’s. Mexico are higher in my colleague BJ Cunningham’s projections and ELO rates Mexico as the marginally better side.

One argument for Poland — and one that is generally correlated but certainly not fully descriptive — is that Poland have the better squad according to transfer market value.

Poland doesn’t have the midfield quality to control the flow and the ball in this match. The Poles run the risk of leaving Lewandowski isolated. He’s the great equalizer and can even be a difference maker, but Mexico have the better back line and midfield in this match.

I’ll trust that and El Tri’s tournament experience in what is otherwise a tossup match. I’m skeptical of both teams in this tournament, but there are fewer reasons to believe that this international tournament will be any different for Poland. This match could well end in a draw, but Mexico are the more likely winner if there is one. I like the draw no bet line.

What About the Risk-Free Bet?

If you bet over $100 on your first bet and it loses, you'll be refunded the same amount you lost in free bets.

Let's say your first bet is $200 on the Cardinals moneyline against the 49ers tonight on Monday Night Football. With Kyler Murray out, Arizona is priced at +350 at Caesars.

  • If the Cardinals lose, you'll get $200 back in free bets.
  • If the Cardinals win, you'll profit $700 and keep the original $200.
