FanDuel Promo Code: Pick Up $150 Offer for NBA, NASCAR, All Sunday Sporting Events
FanDuel NASCAR Cup Series (Darlington), 05/14/2023
The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Darlington Raceway for its annual throwback weekend. New bettors can bet $5 to earn $150 in bonus bets with the FanDuel promo code.
The sports world doesn’t take a break for Mother’s Day, with the NBA/NHL playoffs, Sunday MLB action, NASCAR racing at Darlington, and the AT&T Byron Nelson PGA Tour event. The bonus bets are available to use on any sporting event.
The only thing you need to do to access the bonus bets is make a $5 bet. The bonus bets appear in your account whether that bet wins or loses. FanDuel does an excellent job making sure their new customers have insurance following their first bet.
Which driver will pick up a big victory at one of NASCAR’s iconic tracks? And how can you profit with bonus bets? Check out the article below to find out!
FanDuel First Bet: NASCAR Driver Matchup
There are two ways to approach the FanDuel promo code. You can make your first bet ahead of Sunday’s race and then have bonus bets for the race. The other option is making your first $5 wager on Sunday’s Cup Series race. This section breaks down making a first bet on the race.
Last week’s Cup Series race at Kansas was one for the history books. The 37 lead changes marked the sixth most on a mile-and-a-half track since 1982. The final 30 laps saw a fierce battle between Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin. It concluded with Hamlin turning Larson into the wall on the last lap.
Now, it’s time to turn our focus to Darlington. Hamlin and Larson should be in contention for another victory, but our first bet focuses on a driver matchup between A.J. Allmendinger and Chase Briscoe.
Briscoe has a few solid finishes, but neither driver has been that great in 2023. Briscoe is -125 to finish ahead of Allmendinger at Darlington. However, Nick Giffen’s FLAGS metric sees this matchup going in favor of Allmendinger.
Chase Briscoe (-125) and AJ Allmendinger (-105) are the two protagonists in this particular matchup.
In the four-race sample we’re looking at, Allmendinger hasn’t just been better – he’s been better by a wide margin.
At Auto Club, Allmendinger was 18th in my FLAGS metric while Briscoe was 32nd of 36 cars. That trend continued through the other three races, in which Allmendinger was always between 18th to 22nd in FLAGS and Briscoe always 30th or worse.
While certainly unique, Darlington has at least one similarity to all the other four tracks (banking, tire wear, track length) that there’s little reason to believe Briscoe is suddenly going to pick up the pace by a large amount. I believe the perception of Briscoe is that Darlington should be a good track for him, and he has had some good runs there in both the Xfinity and Cup Series. But those have been sporadic.
Over seven races in NASCAR’s top-two series, Briscoe has one DNF. In the other six races, three each in Cup and Xfinity, Darlington has been a neutral track for him. Briscoe’s come in just 1.7% better than an average track for him per my track quality metric.
Darlington hasn’t been great for Allmendinger, but even then it’s only 5.1% worse than an average track for him.
So there’s not enough here in terms of track-specific performance to think Briscoe will make up a large gap to Allmendinger.
Per my model, Allmendinger should be favored 56.1% of the time. That means he should be the -125 favorite, not Briscoe.
We talked about $5 being the first bet amount, but that’s the minimum. Increasing that amount gives us a better chance to profit while still earning bonus bets. Let’s say we bet $20 on Allmendinger winning this matchup at -105.
- A winning bet gives us $19.05 in winnings, and we keep the $20 wager. We also receive the $150 bonus bet.
- Briscoe winning this matchup means we only have $150 in bonus bets.
FanDuel Bonus Bets: Outright Winner
People may be asking why we didn’t use our bonus bets on the driver matchup. Well, bonus bets aren’t meant to be used on a prop with minus money. In fact, the +EV betting guide suggests using bonus bets on a prop with +300 odds or higher. This is because bonus bets don’t allow you to keep the initial stake.
Which driver should you target for Sunday’s race? Larson and Hamlin will likely attract the most attention, but FanDuel has them at +500 and +600, respectively. I’m looking further down the board at Kyle Busch for +1000.
Busch’s recent Darlington record isn’t for the faint of heart, as he enters Sunday’s race with three straight finishes outside the top 30. However, that doesn’t tell the whole story. He led the most laps in last year’s race but blew an engine while leading in the final 30 laps. He crashed out of the previous two races.
Busch is in his first season with Richard Childress Racing. Last season, Tyler Reddick drove the No. 8 car to a pair of top-three finishes at Darlington. Busch has a chance to continue the streak for the No. 8 car.
It certainly doesn’t hurt that NASCAR experts Nick Giffen and Greg Matherne have locked in Busch as one of their picks.
Busch is +1000, so we don’t need to wager all our bonus bets to bring back a significant profit. Let’s keep it light and put $50 on Busch to win at Darlington.
Betting Outcome | Money in Account |
---|---|
Busch Wins at Darlington | $500 in Winnings ($100 Bonus Bet) |
Busch Doesn’t Win on Sunday | $0 in Winnings ($100 Bonus Bet) |
