FanDuel Promo Code Secures $1K First Bet on the House for Rays-Diamondbacks, All Tuesday Events

FanDuel Promo Code Secures $1K First Bet on the House for Rays-Diamondbacks, All Tuesday Events article feature image

It's a potential World Series preview Tuesday in the first of three between a pair of division leaders in the Tampa Bay Rays and Arizona Diamondbacks. There's up to a $1,000 first bet on the house available with the FanDuel promo code.

Bettors new to FanDuel can wager up to $1,000 and if their first bet doesn't hit, the losses will be restored in bonus bets.

There is no promo code required. Once you deposit a minimum of $10, the offer will kick in.

You may use this offer on any Tuesday event listed on FanDuel, but we'll talk bets from Rays and Diamondbacks below to explain the steps.

FanDuel Promo Code: Rays-Diamondbacks

The purpose of betting with offers like this is to capitalize on value. With the first bet on the house, you're going to see a return in either case of your bet hitting or not. With that said, we like to advise wagering your bankroll for this because that's all the more value you'll be reimbursed with if you lose.

Step 1: Selecting a Prop With Value

Tuesday marks the first meeting between these two franchises since 2019 when Tampa Bay took two out of three. The Rays (54-27) are the best team in baseball, but are 5-5 in their last 10. They won their last game against Kansas City 3-1 to split the series with them and are the second best team in baseball following a victory at 35-17.

Arizona (47-32) is perched 2.5 games atop the NL West and it looks to be on track to crack the postseason for the first time since 2017. The D-backs closed out their series to San Fransisco with a 5-2 win and are 6-4 in their last 10.

Taj Bradley will pitch his 11th start for Tampa. The RHP has 6+ strikeouts in all but two of his 10 outings this season. Zac Gallen has been excellent for Arizona allowing 2.84 ER through 16 starts. He has back-to-back wins leading into Tuesday, but has allowed a home run in each of his last four starts.

Gallen is also a RHP, and according to our notes from Inside Edge, Yandy Diaz is the second-best hitter in the bigs against right-armed breaking balls with a .354 AVG. Gallen leans a lot on his curve ball—throwing it 26% of the time.

Diaz is averaging two hits per game in his last five—including four against the Royals on Sunday. He's on pace to have his best full-length offensive season with a .404 OBP and .518 SLG.

Pick: Diaz to record 2+ hits at +200

Step 2: Placing a First Bet on the House

OK, so we have a prop that presents moderate risk. Say we have a bankroll of $1,000 and we deposit and wager it on Diaz to record 2+ hits:

  • Diaz records 2+ hits: We get a $3K payout and the promotion has concluded.
  • Diaz falls short of 2 hits: We receive $1K in bonus bets.

Step 3: Profit With Bonus Bets

So we went with some risk for the first bet on the house. With bonus bets, we want to push the line a bit further into the +300 range and beyond. This is advised since you see more value over the course of your betting career by betting on lower implied probability. We broke down the theory behind betting with promotions more in-depth here.

We like to use same game parlays, parlays, or longshot props for bonus betting. So in the case we have $1,000 in bonus bets ready to use for Tuesday, let's use a couple of our MLB expert picks to create a parlay:

  • Nick Shlain on Tyler Wells o5.5 strikeouts at -110:

Wells has gone over this number in seven of his last eight starts, and this is a particularly good matchup for him to record strikeouts given his success against left-handed hitters. He has a 29% strikeout percentage against lefties this year compared to just a 23% strikeout percentage against right-handers this year.

Cincinnati’s projected lineup has combined for just a 22% strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching this year, but most of its hitters are left-handed. With five left-handed hitters in the Reds’ projected lineup, Wells should hit this over as he’s done on a consistent basis recently.

  • D.J. James on Brewers ML at +120:

Hitting-wise, Milwaukee hasn’t been as bad against lefties like Peterson. It owns a 99 wRC+ off of southpaws in June, paired with a 9.2% walk rate. The Brewers boast six bats with an xwOBA of over .335 against lefties on the season, which should be more than enough to get to Peterson early and force the bullpen into the game.

In relief, New York has been about as bad, if not worse, than the Brewers in June. New York owns a 4.77 xFIP against Milwaukee’s 4.71. This basically provides neither team with an edge.

That said, since Peterson is so much worse than Teherán, the Brewers should be at least even in this game. Play them to -110.

Note that the difference between using bonus bets and regular money is that bonus bets aren’t kept after using them regardless of winning.

So when pasting these two props together in a parlay, we've got +320 odds. If we take $100 of our $1,000 pot of bonus bets, here's what it would look like:

Betting OutcomeProfits
Parlay Hits$320 ($1,220 in account)
Parlay Misses$0 ($900 left in account)
