This year's NFL opening weekend saw the most online betting activity ever recorded in a Week 1.

GeoComply, which top online sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Caesars use to verify where bets are placed, says it processed 103.1 million logins nationwide from last Thursday to midnight Sunday.

That's a 71.5% increase from last year, before sports betting was available in New York, Louisiana, Connecticut or Arkansas.

New York Leads the Way

New York lead all 25 legal online betting states with 15.3% of total betting volume over the weekend, followed by Pennsylvania (14.8%) and New Jersey (13.1%).

Despite its small population and brief experience with legal sports betting, Kansas, which launched its first apps Sept. 1, was 10th among all states in volume (3.5%).

Meanwhile GeoComply says it blocked 630,000 login attempts from states without legalized mobile betting during the main slate of NFL games, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. That made up a little more than 3% of all attempts.
