If you haven't signed up for an account at DFS industry leader PrizePicks, you can do so on Sunday with the NBA Finals and NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs in the coming weeks. When you do, use the PrizePicks promo codeACTIONMAX for a 100% deposit match of up to $100 in bonus funds.

This offer is available in 30 states, including some that do not have legal online sports betting.

If you have never used PrizePicks before, it can be a bit intimidating at first. However, the app functions as many other daily fantasy sports operators do. PrizePicks allows you to create lineups that contain multiple player projections where you can put selections of "More" or "Less" into something called a "Power Play" or "Flex Play."

We'll discuss a bit more of how you can use PrizePicks to get in on Sunday's sports action.

A Look at How PrizePicks Works

Once you have successfully created your brand-new PrizePicks account and claimed your deposit bonus, you can start creating lineups. There is an existing pool of players you can choose from, with different statistical categories attached. Here's a look at how a recent MLB slate looked:

As mentioned, there are two primary types of lineups you can make at PrizePicks: Flex Play and Power Play. A Power Play only wins if all of your selections win, which is much more difficult. However, your payout is consequently much more considerable. A Flex Play allows you to lose one of your selections, but the payouts are much smaller.

Power Play

Let's look at an example of a Power Play. Suppose I put Kyle Schwarber less than 7.5, Jose Altuve more than 7.0, and Bobby Witt Jr. less than 9.0 into a lineup. If the Power Play wins, it is a 5x return. So a $10 lineup would create $50 in profit. If any of the selections lose from the lineup, it's a loss.

Flex Play

Now, let's see the Flex Play. Say I combine all of the selections from the Power Play above: Schwarber, Altuve, and Witt Jr. If I placed a 3-pick Flex Play and got everything correct, that produces a 2.25x payout, a far cry from the 5x with the Power Play. However, if you were to get 2/3 picks correct, you receive a 1.25x payout, whereas a Power Play would give you nothing back.
