Wake and Rake: What the Sharps Are Betting in Pirates-Tigers
Editor's note: This game was postponed on Saturday afternoon. There will be a doubleheader on Sunday.
The first Saturday of the season means non-stop baseball all day long. Starting at 1 p.m. ET, there's a start time at the top of almost every hour until 9.
There's also apparently some basketball going on today, but sharp bettors have not lost any focus on baseball, as they've already pounced on today's Pirates-Tigers matchup at 1 p.m.
Just before 9:30 a.m. this morning, wiseguys hit the Bucs hard, triggering both a Steam Move and Reverse Line Move at SBG and BetUS, respectively. (Sports Insights' Pro members get access to these premium Bet Signals for every game.)
Only 24% of bettors have taken Pittsburgh at the time of writing, but the books have barely budged the line, moving from +110 to +114. Most of that movement was due to books reducing the juice on the game as the start time approaches (Detroit also moved from -130 to -126).
It's also worth noting that simply taking teams receiving fewer than 25% of bets was a profitable strategy last year, as they went 344-464 for +55.1 units.
