Yankees vs. Rays PRO Report

While a very slight majority of bettors have taken the Yankees after last night's 9-3 win, the Rays have been the preferred side for big, sharp bettors, and they've also presented an edge according to our model.

Sharp Action

Fifty-one percent of bets on this moneyline have landed on the Yankees, but per Sports Insights Bet Signals, sharps have been taking the other side.

Three signals, which are triggered by market movement that comes as a result of sharp action, have revealed professional activity on the Rays, especially so at some of the better prices that were available early on (one at -112, two at -120).

Still, we've yet to see any sign of sharps on the Yankees as of the late afternoon.

Sharp Action edge: Rays

Big Money

The betting population may be essentially split on this game, but the distribution of actual money is not.

The 49% of bets on the Rays have generated 67% of money, which is important considering that bigger bets are more likely to come from sharps.

Big Money edge: Rays

Model Projections

Sean Zerillo's MLB betting model projects the Rays as -148 favorites, giving an edge to the favorites at the current price.
