  • Wiseguys are betting three MLB games Tuesday, headlined by Colorado Rockies-Tampa Bay Rays (7:10 p.m. ET).
  • Sharps are also getting down on Detroit Tigers-New York Yankees (6:35 p.m. ET) and Houston Astros-Texas Rangers (8:05 p.m. ET).
  • Using the tools available at The Action Network, we analyze how pros are betting each game.

Wiseguys started their week in Green Dot City yesterday, going a perfect 3-0 with their Monday plays. Without any day games on tap, sharps will be afforded additional time to break down the board and let ticket counts rise, increasing their contrarian edge.

After analyzing Tuesday’s 12-game slate using the betting tools available at Sports Insights and The Action Network, I’ve identified sharp action on three MLB games.

Betting Terms to Know

Steam Move: Sudden, drastic and uniform line movement across the market caused by an overload of sharp action from respected players.

Reverse Line Movement: When the betting line moves in the opposite direction of the betting percentages. It’s a top smart money indicator.

Line Freeze: When one side is getting heavy betting, but the line won’t budge, indicating sharp liability on the other side.

Juice: The tax or commission that bettors must pay sportsbooks in order for them to accept your wager. A -115 juice means a bettor would have to wager $115 to win $100.

Detroit Tigers @ New York Yankees

6:35 p.m. ET

Sharp angle: Under (moved from 8 to 7.5)

Sharps and squares (casual bettors who bet for fun based) are on the same page when it comes to this over/under.

The total opened at 8. Currently 62% of bets and 76% of dollars are taking the under, indicating moderate public support but also heavy wiseguy money.

This influx of under action created big liability for the books, forcing them to drop the total down to 7.5 so they could entice over money in order to limit their risk.

Using our Sports Insights Bet Signals, we noticed two separate steam moves on the Under 8.

One reason the sharps love this under? The wind is blowing in from center at 8-10 mph.

Colorado Rockies @ Tampa Bay Rays

7:10 p.m. ET

Sharp angle: Under (stayed at 7)

It's not often that you get a contrarian under opportunity with two aces going head-to-head. But sharps are afforded that luxury tonight at the Trop.

Despite Kyle Freeland (17-7, 2.85 ERA in 2018) and Blake Snell (21-5, 1.89 ERA, AL Cy Young winner) facing off, public bettors see a low total and say to themselves, "it has to go over."

However, despite nearly 65% of bets taking the over the total has remained frozen at 7. This indicates under liability, with books terrified to raise the total to 7.5 and give wiseguys the extra half-run (also known as the hook).

We've tracked five separate steam and reverse line moves on the under, all coming at Under 7.

According to our Bet Labs software, dome or closed roof unders getting 40% or less bets with the total either staying the same or falling have won +63.29 units since 2005.

Houston Astros @ Texas Rangers

8:05 p.m. ET

Sharp angle: Under (9)

Sharps cashed their Astros-Rangers under last night and they're going back to the well tonight.

This over/under opened at 9. Currently 65% of bets and 79% of dollars are taking the under, signaling both Average Joe and wiseguy support.

The juice has moved from 9 Under -110 to 9 Under -120, indicating under liability with the next move likely down to 8.5. We also noticed pro bettors steam Under 9.

Mother Nature is providing an additional edge as well.

Tonight's forecast at Globe Life Park in Arlington calls for 11-13 mph winds blowing in straight from center, making this an Under match for the Bet Labs PRO system Wind Blowing In (55.1%, +99.37 units since 2005).
