The Highlights:

  • After a long losing stretch, the public came out on top last night, winning all three of their top plays.
  • Tonight they've hammered two more favorites, along with a total out West.

Public bettors finally put together a winning night, as their three favorite plays cashed on Tuesday. Looking to keep things going, they've backed two of the same teams from Tuesday night.

All data as of 1:30 p.m. ET. For live info, check out our MLB live odds page.

Arizona Diamondbacks (-170) at Miami Marlins

7:10 p.m. ET

The D-backs are tonight's most popular play, attracting 79% of bettors. They haven't landed quite as much money (63%), but have still risen from -160 to -170.

Why the public loves Arizona: Public bettors have been all over the D-backs the past two days, happy to fade the Marlins, who own the National League's worst record. It hasn't been a profitable strategy thus far, going 1-1, but the public can't see Miami taking a series lead tonight.

Minnesota Twins (-144) at Chicago White Sox

8:10 p.m. ET

Seventy-eight percent of bettors are backing Minnesota tonight, and the Twins have also attracted 86% of dollars to move from -140 to their current number.

Why the public loves Minnesota: There aren't many spots that public bettors like to fade more than a bad team off a loss. Thanks to Bet Labs we know that isn't a profitable strategy, but the public is all over it again tonight.

Colorado Rockies-San Francisco Giants Over 7

10:15 p.m. ET

Eighty percent of bettors have taken this over — making it the only play to reach that mark tonight — but only 67% of dollars are behind it. As a result, the total has dropped from 7.5 to 7 across most of the market.

Why the public loves this over: When betting totals, the public often falls victim to simply betting based on the number presented. Listed at seven, this is tonight's lowest total, which makes it appear to be the most likely to go over. On top of that, these teams combined for just five runs last night, so public bettors are naturally expecting they'll be due for some offense tonight.
