  • Sharps are hammering one side of World Series Game 5 (8:15 p.m. ET on FOX) between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers.
  • Using The Action Network's betting tools, we analyze how they're betting Sunday night's matchup featuring David Price and Clayton Kershaw.

It's officially must-win territory for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are down 3-1 to the Boston Red Sox in the World Series.

Two southpaws with legacies on the line will be on the hill on Sunday night.

Though Chris Sale was originally expected to get the nod for Boston, David Price will get the go instead. He's really changed his postseason narrative, allowing only two runs over 12.2 innings in his past three appearances.

The Dodgers, meanwhile, will trot out their trusty steed: Clayton Kershaw.

The only problem is that Kershaw hasn't been trusty in the postseason and allowed five earned runs in four innings of his Game 1 loss.

With the Red Sox showing some real gumption on Saturday night to eek out a win, two thirds of bettors are backing them as a dog.

Professional bettors, on the other hand, are going against the grain and taking Kershaw and the Dodgers at a short price.

A reverse line move was tracked on Sunday afternoon at the sharp offshore book Pinnacle, moving L.A. from -139 to -146. Since opening, the Dodgers have moved all the way from -131 to -145 despite the lack of public support.

Kershaw has received less than 40% of bets only 23 times in 339 combined regular and postseason starts, with only one since 2011. He's won 12 of the 23.

If the percentages hold up, the Red Sox will be the trendiest World Series dog we have on record dating back to 2005. There have been 21 trendy dogs who have received between 51% and 63% of moneyline bets. They've done very poorly with a 5-16 record.
