  • The Weather Rating of 71 at Yankee Stadium is the highest for a Yankees home game this season.
  • There's very little rain in the forecast for bettors and DFS players to worry about Thursday.

We have an all-day Thursday slate on tap with some weather that would make Ernie Banks come back from the dead and play two ball games. There will not only be clear skies, but also above average hitting conditions — which don't always come hand in hand.

Our Weather Rating distills the hitter-friendliness for a particular game into one number. It is a proprietary Fantasy Labs model and shown on a scale of 0 to 100. The Weather Rating does not account for potential rainouts; rather, it simply examines all relevant atmospheric conditions (temperature, altitude, wind speed, humidity, and so on) to determine how batted-ball distance will be impacted.

Highest Weather Ratings

  • Dodgers at Rockies: 80
  • Braves at Nationals: 75
  • Rangers at Yankees: 71

Coors Field tops the list as it essentially has every day when there is a game played there. It's set to be a beautiful night in Denver, with temps in the 80s, clear skies and a right to left breeze.

The matinee in Washington D.C. is sporting hot conditions that will certainly help hitters out. It won't be oppressively hot, though, as the thermometer should stay below 90 with humidity readings right around 50%. However, with Bryce Harper scratched from the lineup, the total has dropped from 9 to 8.5.

Yankee Stadium is currently set to have its highest Weather Rating of the season at 71. With Ariel Jurado and the Rangers in town, the total is 9.5 and nearly 70% have taken the over so far.

Lowest Weather Ratings

  • Pirates at Giants: 36

These dang Bay Area teams always ruin the fun, as they almost never have Weather Ratings above 50. The total in San Fran has dropped from 8.5 to 8 since opening.

Rain

All right, that was a bit grim. I won't guarantee no rain because that always turns out badly, but let's just say the chances of rain are very slim today.
