  • Professional bettors are keying in on three games among Wednesday's MLB slate.
  • Their three top plays include a side on the second game of the Red Sox-Yankees series.

For the second night in a row, sharp bettors cashed only one play on Tuesday. Their winner did come at plus-money with the Angels, but wiseguys will still be looking to make up for what was close to a two-unit loss last night.

Betting Terms to Know

Steam Move: Sudden, drastic and uniform line movement across the market caused by an overload of sharp action from respected players.

Reverse Line Movement: When the betting line moves in the opposite direction of the betting percentages. It’s a top smart money indicator.

Line Freeze: When one side is getting heavy betting, but the line won’t budge, indicating sharp liability on the other side.

Juice: The tax or commission that bettors must pay sportsbooks in order for them to accept your wager. A -115 juice means a bettor would have to wager $115 to win $100.

Boston Red Sox @ New York Yankees

7:05 p.m. ET

Sharp angle: Yankees (moved from -146 to -166)

Bettors aren't passing up the Red Sox at plus-money. Seventy percent are behind Boston and David Price, but this line is actually moving toward the Yankees.

New York was steamed earlier in the day, and has a slightly higher money than bet percentage, indicating that sharper bettors are going with the home favorite.

Cincinnati Reds @ Milwaukee Brewers

7:40 p.m. ET

Sharp angle: Reds (moved from +161 to +152)

The days of blindly betting on Matt Harvey are long gone. Harvey and the Reds have attracted only 29% of bets tonight, but those bets account for 39% dollars wagered, indicating that sharper bets are behind Cincy.

The line movement would agree, as the Reds have fallen from +161 to +152 despite their low support.

San Francisco Giants @ San Diego Padres

9:10 p.m. ET

Sharp angle: Padres (moved from -125 to -141)

Sharps couldn't cash on the Padres last night, but they're standing by San Diego being the better play in this matchup. Once again, the Pads are seeing very low support for a favorite in this moneyline range, getting only 32% of bets.

They are getting 38% of bets, however, and were steamed earlier in the day, meaning sharp bettors are clearly responsible for this line move.
