Saturday’s Best NBA Player Props: Betting JaVale McGee Rebounds, More

- Saturday night's seven-game NBA slate features three player prop bets offering value.
- This piece will focus on Hornets C Cody Zeller, Nuggets C Nikola Jokic, and Lakers C JaVale McGee.
Prop bets can be a great way to get action on a game. Bookmakers don’t have to worry about taking a lot of action on them, so there isn’t as great an incentive to post a competitive line.
As a result, props can be some of the most exploitable bets on the board.
These props can become downright unfair when you combine them with the FantasyLabs Player Prop tool.
Yesterday was a banner day for the tool, with props with a Bet Quality of at least eight going a ridiculous 24-3:
Saturday’s best props focus on three of the slate’s seven games:
- Cleveland Cavaliers @ Charlotte Hornets: 7 p.m. ET
- Utah Jazz @ Denver Nuggets: 9 p.m. ET
- Los Angeles Lakers @ Portland Trail Blazers: 10 p.m. ET
Lets dive right in.
Hornets C Cody Zeller
The Pick: Over 5.5 rebounds (-130)
I played this prop in the Hornets’ last game and I’m willing to double down today. Zeller has seen much more playing time recently, seeing at least 25 minutes of court time in each of his past three games. He’s also recorded at least six rebounds in four of his past five games, so I think this number is too low at the moment.
This game against the Cavs should be slow paced, but I still think there should be enough shot attempts for Zeller to eclipse this number. I like this prop up to -150.
Nuggets C Nikola Jokic
The Pick: Under 19.5 points (-110)
Jokic has been a much more consistent scorer this season, scoring at least 21 points in five of his first eight games, but this matchup vs. the Jazz figures to be a difficult one.
Rudy Gobert was the best defensive center in the league last season per Defensive Real Plus/Minus, and might be the best overall defender on the planet. Jokice unsurprisingly struggled in this matchup last season, averaging just 8.8 points per game in four meetings.
This is one of my favorite props of the day. This line seems way too high considering the matchup vs. Gobert, so I’m willing to pay up to -180.
Lakers C JaVale McGee
The Pick: Over 7.5 rebounds (-135)
McGee was solid in limited minutes for the Warriors over the past two seasons, but he’s really blossomed as a member of the Lakers. He’s played big minutes recently, seeing at least 31 minutes in three of his past four games, and has averaged 10.0 rebounds per 36 minutes this season.
This game vs. the Blazers should also be a good one for his rebounding potential. Both of these teams rank in the top half of the league in terms of pace, and the over/under on the game is the highest on the slate by a significant margin. That should mean a lot of possessions and a lot of shot attempts, which gives McGee more rebounding upside than usual.
I’m all in on #JaValeMcGeeSZN. I’d play this prop up to -160.
