Friday’s Best NBA Player Props: Betting Josh Richardson Points, More

Prop bets can be a great way to get action on a game. Bookmakers don’t have to worry about taking a lot of action on them, so there isn’t as great an incentive to post a competitive line.

As a result, props can be some of the most exploitable bets on the board.

Friday's best props focus on four of the slate’s 11 games:

• Washington Wizards at Philadelphia 76ers: 7 p.m. ET
• Chicago Bulls at Detroit Pistons: 7p.m. ET
• Atlanta Hawks at Oklahoma City Thunder: 8 p.m. ET
• New Orleans Pelicans at Miami Heat: 8 p.m. ET

Let’s dive right in.

Wizards PF Markieff Morris

The Pick: Over six rebounds (-167)

The Wizards have the potential to be really shorthanded in their frontcourt against the 76ers. Dwight Howard and Otto Porter have already been ruled out, and Jeff Green is also questionable with a back injury.

Morris figures to be one of the primary beneficiaries of these absences, and he's been playing well lately: He’s played at least 28 minutes and grabbed at least nine boards in each of his past three games.

This game figures to be one of the fastest of the day, with both teams currently ranking in the top seven in pace. That should lead to a lot of shot attempts on both sides, which should increase Morris’ chance of hitting the over on his rebound prop.

This prop feels like free money. I'd play the over up to -250 at the current line and would play it up to seven rebounds as well.

Bulls F Jabari Parker

The Pick: Over 17.5 points (-115)

Parker has a ton of holes in his game — he's a professional basketball player who famously does not care about playing defense — but the dude can get buckets.

He’s seen a nice bump in playing time recently and has unsurprisingly responded by scoring at least 18 points in six of his past seven games. He also posted a season-high usage rate of 34.5% in his last game, which bodes well for his scoring prospects moving forward.

I would never want Jabari playing for my team, but I have no problem trying to make a little money off his scoring ability. I like the over up to -140.

Hawks F Taurean Prince

The Pick: Under 15.5 points (-114)

Prince has had a disappointing start after finishing last season on a high note, and his playing time is starting to suffer as a result. He’s coming off just 21 minutes in his last contest, and it's hard to rack up points when you’re sitting on the bench.

Even if his minutes do bounce back, he’s in a brutal spot against the Thunder, who have been the best team in the league in terms of defensive efficiency.

There appears to be some value with the under here, and I’d play this prop up to -150.

Heat G/F Josh Richardson

The Pick: Over 20.5 points (+110)

This is admittedly a high bar for Richardson to clear, but he's in one of the best scoring spots he’ll see all season.

The Pelicans are playing at the third-fastest pace and rank just 25th in defensive efficiency this season, and the Heat’s implied team total of 112.75 represents an increase of more than four points when compared to their season average (108.6).

The Heat are also still without Goran Dragic and Tyler Johnson, and Richardson has averaged 20.3 points per 36 minutes with both players off the floor this season. Richardson is projected for 35.6 minutes in our Models, so I don’t mind taking a shot at the over in a great matchup at better than even money.

I’m expecting a lot of points in this game, but I still wouldn’t want to play this line if it rose above 19.5 or got much worse than +110.
