Monday’s Best NBA Player Props: Betting Lou Williams Points, More

Monday’s best player props focus on three of the slate’s nine games:

• Brooklyn Nets at Toronto Raptors: 7:30 p.m. ET
• Los Angeles Clippers at Minnesota Timberwolves: 8 p.m. ET
• Milwaukee Bucks at Chicago Bulls: 8 p.m. ET

Raptors PG Kyle Lowry

The Pick: Over 13.5 points (-125)

Lowry has had a down season by his standards, but this line still feels too low. He’s averaged 14.4 points per game and has scored at least 20 points in two of his past three games. He could also see a few additional minutes today given the Raptors’ current point guard situation.

Fred VanVleet is out with a thumb injury, Delon Wright is now in Memphis, and the newly acquired Jeremy Lin won’t be available to make his debut, which leaves Lowry as really the only viable option at the position.

I like this prop quite a bit and would be willing to play it up to -150.

Clippers G Lou Williams

The Pick: Over 18.5 points (-140)

Williams has not scored the ball well recently, scoring 18 points or fewer in three of his past four games. That said, his scoring outlook is still positive following the trade of Tobias Harris. He’s seen a team-high usage bump of +2.8% with Harris off the court this season, resulting in an average of 30.7 points per 36 minutes.

Williams won’t play 36 minutes, but he should come pretty close: He’s played at least 28 minutes in five of his past seven games. This game between the Clippers and Timberwolves should also be one of the best of the day from a scoring perspective, owning the second-highest over/under of the day at 229.5 points.

This seems like a great time to buy low on Williams. I like the over up to -160.

Bulls PF Lauri Markkanen

The Pick: Under 21.5 points (-115)

Markkanen has been excellent for the Bulls recently, scoring at least 30 points in three of his past four games. However, things don’t figure to be as easy for him today vs. the Milwaukee Bucks.

They’ve been the best defensive team in the league this season, ranking first in defensive efficiency. The Bulls are also 12-point underdogs at home, so he could see reduced playing time if this game turns into a blowout.

Markkanen is a talented young big man, but this line feels too high given the matchup. I like the under up to -130.
