How Pros Are Betting Celtics-Raptors Tuesday Night

What Tuesday's NBA slate lacks in quantity, it makes up for in quality. Only three games will tip off tonight, but two consist of matchups between .600 teams or better: Celtics-Raptors and Thunder-Nuggets (8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. ET, respectively).

Both will also be aired nationally (TNT), meaning they'll attract bets aplenty.

Despite dropping its last game, Toronto enters tonight as a winner of eight of its past nine, and holds the 2-spot in the East. That puts the Raptors 6.5 games up on the Celtics, who have lost two straight and four of six.

On their home court, the Raptors opened as 4-point favorites at most sportsbooks.

Since that time, overall action from the betting market has been pretty close to even. The Celtics have a slight edge in bets (53%) and money (51%), both of which could easily swap sides as more bettors dive in.

What is noteworthy, however, is how the line has moved as a result of the balanced action. With no real monetary liability, there'd be no reason for oddsmakers to adjust the point spread … unless, of course, one side consisted of sharper bettors.

Sure enough, this line has moved toward the visiting Celtics, who are now down to +3.5.
