NBA Sharp Report: Pros Targeting Pistons-Hornets, Two Other Games

After just two NBA games to pick from last night, bettors have a bevy of basketball bets to brood about on Friday. Ten games in the NBA and over 30 on the college basketball slate should keep everyone busy.

While the best game of the night — Milwaukee Bucks-Boston Celtics — hasn't seen much sharp action, a handful of others have.

Here's what's gone down so far.

Detroit Pistons @ Charlotte Hornets

7 p.m. ET

Sharp angle: Over (216 to 219.5)

Though not exactly a contrarian side at 64% of bets, the over has attracted a steady flow of money throughout the day and is currently getting 85% of the cash.

The over/under has slowly crept all the way up from the opener of 216 to 219.5 without dropping once along the way. The most recent half-point bump took place shortly after 12:15 p.m. ET.

Atlanta Hawks @ New York Knicks

7:30 p.m. ET

Sharp angle: Over (228.5 to 233)

This line movement is similar to the Pistons-Hornets game, but the betting activity does not correlate. This over is getting just 42% of bets, which is very unpopular for an over.

Like the first game, though, it is getting more than 80% of the money. Tom Cruise once yelled "show me the money" into a phone on a movie and I think you're going to want to follow his mindset when betting this game.

In addition to the fat stacks of Benjamins, there's been two Sports Insights Bet Signals triggered on the over, indicating two instances of sharp action moving this total.

Orlando Magic @ Chicago Bulls

8 p.m. ET

Sharp angles: Bulls (+3.5 to +3)

With just 25% of bets, the public is clearly a bit scared to back the 7-25 Bulls getting just a few points at home. The Magic are a so-so team, but have been one of the better teams against the spread this season at 16-13-1.

There was two-way sharp activity on this spread earlier in the day as the line moved between 2.5 and 3 behind steam and reverse line moves on either side.

Once the line hit +3.5, sharps stepped in and dropped it back down to the opener of +3.

TL;DR – Sharps bullish on Bulls.
