With two weeks to go before the most heavily-bet event on the sports calendar, bettors are going to have to look elsewhere for value in the coming days. Thankfully, the NBA is offering plenty of help in that regard with today's 14-game slate. And because of the holiday, that slate also presents a few afternoon tips.

Sharps have had a little something to say about two of them.

Pistons vs. Wizards

2 p.m. ET | NBCS-DC

Public bettors don't seem too sure of themselves on this one. With the Wizards at home against a team they're behind in the standings, a slight minority (48%) have laid the small spread.

But even with bets split down the middle, that small spread has grown a bit.

Washington has gone from -1 to -2 since this line opened, and landing 71% of actual money has certainly helped propel that move. But while it does create a monetary liability, it perhaps more importantly serves as an indication of how sharps are betting the game (since they're the ones more likely to be making bigger bets).

Two Sports Insights Bet Signals — indicators of market movement as a result of professional activity — have hit the Wizards (both at -1), confirming sharps to be behind the big money and line move.

Sharp angle: Wizards (moved from -1 to -2)

Raptors vs. Hawks

2:30 p.m. ET | NBA TV

This matchup has been a much easier one for bettors to pick, with 78% of spread tickets hitting the Raptors as 8.5-point road favorites. Sharps, however, are more concerned with the over/under.

Opening at 231, this is one of the higher numbers on today's slate. Apparently that opener was a bit too high, though.

Only 40% of bettors have taken the under, but it's fallen below the 230 mark, settling at a consensus 229.5, and some books are down even to 229.

Any line move toward an unpopular side has a good chance of being the result of sharp action, and SI Bet Signals once again confirm that to be the case.

Another two have hit the under at lines of 231 and 230.5, convincing oddsmakers to come down to the current total.

Sharp angle: Under (moved from 231 to 229.5)
