The return of sports rolls on with the NBA restarting its season with a Utah Jazz vs. New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers vs. Los Angeles Clippers Thursday night doubleheader.

And as the NBA makes its return, it brings with it some professional betting action to both games.

Jazz-Pelicans is not only tonight's first NBA matchup, but it's also attracting the brunt of sharp betting action, especially over the past three days.

Interestingly, Zion Williamson's unknown status — he is currently listed as a game-time decision for personal reasons — isn't stopping professionals from unloading on the Jazz vs. Pelicans over/under.

This total sat at 218.5 as recently as July 25 and ticked up to 221 on Monday, and that's when the influx of sharp action starting flowing on the over.

The Jazz vs. Pelicans over/under has skyrocketed to 227 as of late Thursday morning, with three steam moves triggered on the over by Sports Insights' Bet Signals in the past 24 hours, identifying three separate instances of market-moving money hitting that side of the total.

There's still enough time for buyback to come in on the under, but at the time of writing, there's no doubt that sharp bettors have consistently played the over in this matchup.

Los Angeles Clippers vs. Los Angeles Lakers

9 p.m. ET | TNT

The second game of tonight's NBA restart doubleheader includes the two Western Conference favorites with the Clippers taking on the Lakers.

At +150 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook, the Lakers are the most likely team in the West to advance to the NBA Finals, with the Clippers on their heels at +180.

This game will undoubtedly attract a massive handle from bettors everywhere, but it's not just causal bettors jonesing for Kawhi vs. LeBron action.

Sharps have also taken a position on Clippers vs. Lakers, forcing late adjustment to this total in the hours leading up to tip off.

Seeing 60% of betting tickets on the over isn't all that surprising considering recreational bettors overwhelmingly root for exciting, high-scoring games and therefore place their wagers accordingly.

However, it's not just the majority of bets landing on that side of the total — the money on the over is even more one-sided.

Eighty-eight percent of dollars on the total have landed on the over, meaning the biggest bets are settling there as well.

Oddsmakers have clearly taken notice, adjusting this number, which sat at 215 just yesterday, up to the current market consensus of 218.
