When tracking the total number of bets placed on games, it's typical to see later games lag behind early action until they approach their start times. That's not the case today as both of tonight's two most heavily bet college hoops games come from the West Coast Conference tournament, and neither tips off before 9 p.m. ET.
With our free betting percentages and number of bets data, we've pinpointed three games that the public is overvaluing tonight.
San Francisco vs. Gonzaga (-13)
9 p.m. ET
In the first of tonight's two WCC semifinal matchups, 66% of bettors have laid the 13 points with the top-seeded Zags. But despite receiving the strong majority of spread tickets, Gonzaga has accounted for just 17% of the money wagered on this game, indicating that more sizable bets have come down on San Fran.
BYU vs. Saint Mary's (-5.5)
11:30 p.m. ET
As of now, this is on pace to be the most heavily bet game tonight across all sports. In a similar spot to Gonzaga, Saint Mary's has drawn 63% of spread bettors that have accounted for just 39% of the money.
Calgary Flames at Pittsburgh Penguins (-180)
7 p.m. ET
The Penguins are currently receiving 80% of bets, the only team across all sports to hit that mark tonight. They're also accounting for 77% of the money wagered on this game, but despite their liability on the Flames, sportsbooks have maintained an almost completely stagnant line since opening.
