Betting Brunch: Sharp Money Continues to Pound Thursday’s Basketball Slate

PJ Walsh got you started with a little wake and rake action, but there's been more movement in college hoops as bettors are hitting the window during brunch-time.
It seemed like just yesterday that Wisconsin was in the National Championship game. Now…they're garbage. At 4-10 in conference play, they're near the bottom of the Big Ten standings. They also haven't been kind to spread bettors at just 10-15-1 ATS.
They're hosting the #6 Purdue Boilermakers squad, who is coming off two very close losses to Michigan State and Ohio State.
The Badgers opened as double-digit home dogs at +10.5, but bettors abandoned their brunch buffets and steamed them down to +9.5 across the market. Our bet signals triggered a Reverse Line Move at Pinnacle, perhaps the sharpest offshore book, around 10 a.m. ET on this play. Only 25% of bettors are on Wisconsin, which is not that surprising given their performance this season, but sharp bettors are hoping the can lose by 10 or fewer points.
Another game that has seen some very interesting movement over the past hour is Temple/Wichita State. This game isn't lopsided as far as percentage of bets goes. In fact, it was split exactly 50/50 as of 11 a.m. ET.
However, the Shockers were getting more than 80% of dollars. This helped move their line from -11.5 to -13.5. The past hour has been a different story, though, as action has come back in on Temple.
The Owls are now receiving 56% of tickets and, more importantly, dollars are up to 44%. This buyback has moved the line back to 12.5.
Of the 53 games on the night, these two are both within the top 10 as far as number of bets are concerned.
