- Tonight's college hoops slate may lack high-profile matchups, but sharps have still found value on at least two games.
- Betting market percentages and Sports Insights' Bet Signals help reveal which bets wiseguys are making.
Thursday's college hoops slate is undoubtedly a contender for the least intriguing of the young season so far. Only a handful of games are listed with lines, none of which include a team inside the Top 25.
Still, while most bettors are steering clear of the evening's college games, sharps have found a couple of unsuspecting matchups offering value.
With start times of 9 and 10 p.m. ET, respectively, tonight's Georgia Southern-Arizona and Northern Arizona-UC Davis matchups have drawn the attention of wiseguys.
Georgia Southern @ Arizona
9 p.m. ET
Sharp angle: Georgia Southern (moved from +10 to +9)
Seeing a big name like Arizona playing a Sun Belt opponent, most bettors will naturally side with the Wildcats. That's the case here at least, as Arizona has drawn 65% of bets so far.
Despite that, this line has dropped from +10 to +9, and even to +8.5 at a few books, as sharps have gone the other way.
Georgia Southern's 35% backing has accounted for 45% of dollars wagered, meaning bigger bettors — the ones more likely to be sharps — are taking the points.
Georgia Southern has also drawn two Sports Insights Bet Signals — indications of market-wide line movement caused by sharp action — to help this line move.
Northern Arizona @ UC Davis
10 p.m. ET
Sharp angle: Northern Arizona (moved from +8 to +7)
In a similar spot, Northern Arizona has seen its line fall by one point thanks to action from sharp bettors. While not nearly as unpopular as Georgia Southern in the game above, Northern Arizona has still drawn the slight minority of bettors at 48%.
Sixty-two percent of dollars, however, have landed on the Lumberjacks, which, along with a Sports Insights Bet Signal, have helped bring this down from its opening number.
