  • Wiseguys are getting down on tonight's matchup between Wichita State and Indiana (7 p.m. ET on ESPN).
  • Using the tools available at The Action Network, we analyze how pros are betting both the spread and over/under.

After an epic six-day stretch (16-3 ATS, 84.2%), wiseguys came back down to earth yesterday, going 1-2 with their Monday plays.

After analyzing Tuesday's short five-game slate using the betting tools available at Sports Insights and The Action Network, I’ve identified one game receiving a double dose of sharp action from professional bettors.

Betting Terms to Know

Steam Move: Sudden, drastic and uniform line movement across the market caused by an overload of sharp action from respected players.

Reverse Line Movement: When the betting line moves in the opposite direction of the betting percentages. It’s a top smart money indicator.

Line Freeze: When one side is getting heavy betting, but the line won’t budge, indicating sharp liability on the other side.

Juice: The tax or commission that bettors must pay sportsbooks in order for them to accept your wager. A -115 juice means a bettor would have to wager $115 to win $100.

Wichita State @ Indiana

Sharp angle: Wichita State (moved from +5.5 to +4)

Squares (recreational bettors who bet for fun based on gut instinct) are relatively undecided when it comes to this NIT spread. But wiseguys have taken a clear position.

In the most heavily bet game of the night, 1-seed Indiana (19-15) opened as a 5.5-point favorite against 6-seed Wichita State (21-14). Currently 53% of spread bets are grabbing the points with the Shockers, indicating a slight public lean.

However, the Shockers are also receiving 72% of spread dollars, signaling heavy sharp action from pro bettors.

Meanwhile, Indiana has fallen from -5.5 to -4. In a vacuum, moderate betting shouldn't move a line whatsoever, aside from a slight juice adjustment. So we know this 1.5-point move toward Wichita State is a result of smart money.

Sharp angle: Under (moved from 140 to 138)

Wiseguys aren't just getting down on the spread. They're also eyeing the over/under.

This total opened at 138. Early betting pushed the line up to 140. That's when wiseguys hammered the under at a inflated, overpriced number.

Using our Sports Insights Bet Signals, we tracked two big steam moves on the Under, with sharps crushing the Under 140 and Under 138.5. The fact that wiseguys kept hitting the under even though the line fell indicates supreme confidence from pro players.

This overload of smart money created big liability for the oddsmakers, forcing them to adjust the total down to 138. We haven't seen a single conflicting over move (or buyback).
