At No. 6 in the country, Florida State is now the highest-ranked team in the ACC. And at 14-3 in conference, the Noles are also in first place.
This afternoon they’ll travel to Clemson, which … has not been so dominant. The Tigers are right in the middle of the pack in the ACC at 8-9, which makes today’s 3-point spread appear to be a bit of a head-scratcher.
Public bettors don’t seem to wasting any time scratching their heads, though. They’ve flocked to Florida State in bunches, which doesn’t come as too much of a surprise.

With the current line of FSU -3 matching the opening number, that simple comparison doesn’t really hint at much about a sharp side. But considering one side is drawing 81% of bettors, that apparent lack of movement is actually pretty telling. Why aren’t oddsmakers moving the line?
Well they actually tried to. The heavy backing of Florida State initially convinced oddsmakers to raise the line to -3.5, and -4 in some cases. That’s when sharp action hit the Tigers.

At the time of writing, a few books are starting to feel the monetary liability (78% of money is also on Clemson) and are inching back toward a 3.5-point spread.
If that does happen, and especially if it makes it back to +4, look for sharps to strike again on the home dog.
