  • Before placing your bowl game bets for Monday, you might want to know which bets sharps are making.
  • Sharps are bettors with long track records of consistent success.
  • Their favorite Monday plays include a bet on the Gator Bowl between NC State and Texas A&M.

It's not New Year's Eve without some bowl game action, and sharps aren't missing out on the party.

Monday features a five-game college football slate, with games kicking off from noon to 7:30 p.m. ET.

Of those five games on tap today, three have attracted significant one-sided action from wiseguys. Let's take a look.

Sun Bowl: Pittsburgh vs. Stanford

2 p.m. ET | CBS | El Paso, TX

Sharp angle: Pittsburgh (moved from +6.5 to +3.5)

Despite a majority of bettors on Stanford, this line has moved away from the Cardinal thanks to sharp action on Pitt.

Forty-three percent of bets accounting for 61% of actual dollars are behind the Panthers, meaning bigger, probably sharper bettors are taking the points. That's helped to drop this line from +6.5 to +3.5, passing through the key numbers of 4 and 6.

A Sports Insights Bet Signal was also triggered on Pitt at +5.5, serving as confirmation that sharps are playing the underdog.

Liberty Bowl: Missouri vs. Oklahoma State

3:45 p.m. ET | ESPN | Memphis, TN

Sharp angle: Under (moved from 74 to 71)

This total is actually sitting at the same number at which it opened, but that doesn't quite tell the entire story of how sharps have shaped it.

Early money on the over had oddsmakers quickly adjust this line from 71 to 74. It remained there for more than three weeks, but as the game approached and bet limits were increased, sharps began to hammer away at the under.

Six Sports Insights Bet Signals have hit the under in the past three days, and while it has drawn just 27% of bets and 30% of dollars, the total has fallen back from 74 to its original opening number.

Gator Bowl: Texas A&M vs. NC State

7:30 p.m. ET | ESPN | Jacksonville, FL

Sharp angle: NC State (moved from +4.5 to +7)

An increasing spread in this game doesn't exactly point to any sharp action hitting the underdog, and that's in large part because sharps didn't get involved until after the line had moved.

On top of that, Texas A&M has been one of the most popular bets of the entire bowl season, drawing 77% of bettors and 79% of actual money.

Six Bet Signals, however, have been triggered on NC State — all of which have come at lines of +5.5 or higher.

So while this line remains listed at one touchdown, if books begin to follow the indications from their sharper customers, it's certainly possible that we'd see that number decrease by game time.
