Toledo is fighting for bowl eligibility when it travels to Kent State on Thursday night as a nearly two-touchdown favorite.
Will the extra motivation help fuel the Rockets to a win and cover? According to our data at BetLabs, teams needing one win to get bowl eligible with one or two games left in the season cover just 51% of the time.
This Thursday’s MACtion matchup will pit Toledo’s offense, which has shredded bad teams, against a Kent State team that has two wins but is 6-4 against the spread. The Golden Flashes rank 107th in the country in yards per play allowed (6.22).

Toledo is 4-6 ATS this season, but 3-1 ATS against teams outside the top 90 of The Action Network’s power ratings.
The Rockets are averaging 7.1 yards per play and 53.5 points per game in four games against non-top 90 teams, and 5.4 and 28.6 against those inside the top 90.
On defense, they’re allowing 5.4 against less competition compared to 6.4 against better teams.
Fortunately for Toledo, Kent State is 120th in our power ratings.
