Windy Forecast Not Deterring West Virgina-Texas Over/Under Bettors

- Though it will be sunny and in the 70s in Texas on Saturday, winds of 15 mph will be blowing across the field for the West Virginia-Texas game (3:30 p.m. ET, FOX).
- Bettors are overwhelmingly expecting a high-scoring game as 87% of bets are on over 58.
Yesterday, I highlighted an over/under in Wyoming that is being heavily impacted by high winds. I'm talking fully erect wind socks in Laramie.
There are other games with whipping winds, though, but the over/under isn't plummeting in every one.
In fact, the total has hardly budged for the West Virginia-Texas game (Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, FOX).
With sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s, the forecast looks beautiful to non-bettors.
However, 15-16 mph sustained crosswinds will be blowing across Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium all darn day, which could cause long passes and field-goal attempts to go awry.
Bettors aren't batting an eye at the forecast, though, as the over in this game is one of the most popular totals of the week. Eighty-seven percent of bettors think the Mountaineers and Longhorns will score more than 58 points.

Despite this heavy over action, the game remains at the 58 opener.
Historically, games with 15+ mph winds have gone under the closing total 57.8% of the time according to our Bet Labs software.
