Opening Line

Injuries are the early story for this NFC matchup between the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers, who will be playing at MetLife Stadium for the second consecutive week. The 49ers beat the New York Jets here 31-13 last Sunday, covering the spread as 7-point road favorites despite losing a few key players to injury in the first half, including starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

San Francisco opened as a 6.5-point favorite versus the other New York team, but has already dropped to -4 at most sportsbooks like DraftKings, with injuries remaining a huge concern. In addition to Garoppolo (ankle), the 49ers saw running back Raheem Mostert (knee) and defensive end Nick Bosa (knee) also go down. Bosa could be lost for the season with a torn ACL.

The Giants did not escape Week 2 unscathed either after losing 17-13 to the Chicago Bears as consensus 5-point road underdogs. While New York did cover the spread, the team may have lost running back Saquon Barkley to a torn ACL, as well.
