Let’s take a (short) break from the ice, diamond and hardwood to talk the topic du jour in the sports world on Thursday: Round 1 of the NFL draft.

Will we see trades? Will we see a top player fall? Will the Browns make any smart picks? Who knows? What we do know is it is going to be interesting and fun, and since we’re all watching, we might as well have a little action on it. With that in mind, I have come up with a parlay of three draft prop bets that pays nearly 5-1. Let’s get it.

All odds as of Wednesday evening.

O/U 5.5 QBs Taken in Round 1

The number here is five. Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson are all going in the first round. I do not believe there will be a team so in love with Mason Rudolph to pay the king’s ransom required to trade up in the first round. With all the QBs going in the top 15 picks or so, there will be a glut of quality players at other positions who will go at the end of Round 1.

THE PICK: UNDER 5.5 -200

Will the Top Three Picks All Be QBs?

I like the value here. It’s also the logical pick. Cleveland is likely to go QB at No. 1 overall. The Jets are definitely going quarterback at No. 3. They did not trade up there to take pass-rusher Bradley Chubb or even stud RB Saquon Barkley. That leaves the Giants. I don’t know why, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the Giants may roll the dice on Josh Rosen. He’s the best QB in this draft, and if he is sitting there at No. 2, I think they take him and put him behind Eli Manning for a year or two while he adjusts to the NFL game. I think more likely than not we are looking at three QBs in three picks. Let’s go get that plus-money on this one.

Who Will Be The First Overall Pick?

This comes down to three players in my opinion: Barkley, Allen and Darnold. I think the Browns will be shy to take a running back at No. 1. Plus, there’s always a chance that Barkley will be there for them at No. 4. As much as we’ve all heard Allen’s name here, I think the pick is Darnold. He comes out of the bigger program at USC, and he has all the physical tools to be an NFL quarterback. He’s just the safer pick. Also, don’t discount the role of Browns owner Jimmy Haslam. At Darnold’s pro day, when he waited for the rain to begin before he started throwing, Haslam looked very cozy with Darnold’s parents in the stands. I think Darnold is the guy they want, and the guy they take.

THE PICK: Sam Darnold -180
