From an individual player standpoint, the Broncos enter the 2020 season with arguably the most compelling roster.
They’re led by a second-year quarterback Drew Lock, who flashed signs of serious potential, including a 22-for-27, 309-yard, three-touchdown performance in Houston in Week 14.
They drafted four pass-catchers, including the receiver many believed to be the best in the class — Jerry Jeudy out of Alabama — as well as the fastest tight end in the draft — Albert Okwuegbunam out of Missouri — to pair with last year’s first-round choice, Noah Fant.
And of course, their defense is still led by one of the game’s best edge rushers, Von Miller.
But with so much young talent, Denver’s range of outcomes for 2020 is about as wide as any team’s. Should, for example, Drew Lock and Jerry Jeudy immediately mesh into a QB-WR tandem to be feared, anything is possible … including one of the two winning MVP — though, to be fair, it’s pretty unlikely.
But if you’re looking to bet on a Bronco to take home the award, DraftKings Sportsbook is offering odds on Lock, Miller and Jeudy.
Denver Broncos NFL MVP Odds
- Drew Lock +7000
- Von Miller +25000
- Jerry Jeudy +50000
For those new to reading betting odds, the +7000 next to Lock’s name means a $100 bet would win $7000 if he were to win MVP. Miller, then, would return $25,000 and Jeudy would return $50,000.
As for the implied likelihood of any of those three things happening, odds of +7000 (this can be read as “70 to 1”) imply a probability of 1.41%. Miller’s +25000 implies a 0.40% chance and Jeudy’s +50000 implies 0.20%.
And to put into perspective just how big of a longshot each of these three players are, consider that the favorite, Patrick Mahomes, is listed at +400 (a $100 bet would win just $400).
Lock, Miller and Jeudy rank 26th, 71st and 77th, respectively on the odds list.
