Week 4 NFL Injury Report: A.J. Green, More Fantasy Football Starters to Monitor

Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a torn ACL during the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
The 49ers have averaged 27.1 points per game in eight starts with Jimmy GQ under center compared to only 17 points per game in 11 games without him since 2017. The fantasy stock of everyone involved in the 49ers’ offense will take a hit with C.J. Beathard under center, with the lone possible exception being Beathard’s former Iowa teammate, George Kittle.
A trip to Los Angeles to face the Chargers in Week 4 isn’t exactly what the doctor ordered, either.
Meanwhile, Bengals No. 1 receiver A.J. Green suffered a groin injury that sidelined him for the better part of the second half of Cincinnati’s Week 3 loss to Carolina. His status is uncertain entering this week’s matchup against the Falcons.
Tyler Boyd and John Ross would certainly see an uptick in targets if Green is ultimately unable to suit up.
Some other key injury notes from around the league:
- Bengals RB Joe Mixon (knee) and Falcons RB Devonta Freeman (knee) should be considered questionable for Sunday.
- Giants TE Evan Engram (knee) is considered week-to-week.
- Cowboys LB Sean Lee is expected to miss multiple weeks.
- The potential absence of Patriots RB Rex Burkhead (neck) could help unmuddle the Patriots’ committee backfield.
We’ll be tracking injuries and suspensions for every starter and fantasy-relevant player below, with updates until kickoff.
Daily practice participation will be included to give a clear idea of how healthy a player truly is. Official injury designations will be added once available, but the FantasyLabs Status will be updated throughout the week.
