Kansas City’s worst nightmare came true when reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes suffered a dislocated kneecap during the second quarter of last night’s game against the Denver Broncos.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs’ star quarterback could potentially play in three weeks should the MRI results reveal no damage. On the other hand, there’s still a chance that Mahomes could miss an extended period of time.

What is certain is that Mahomes will miss games, but oddsmakers at PointsBet are still bullish on Kansas City’s Super Bowl chances.
As recently as Tuesday, the Chiefs had the third-best odds to win Super Bowl 54 at 8-1.
Following last night’s win, Kansas City’s odds fell to just 10-1, moving it into a third-place tie with the San Francisco 49ers.
Should K.C. ultimately receive bad news from the MRI results, expect those odds to plummet.
Currently, the New England Patriots (+230) are the only team in the AFC with better odds to win Super Bowl 54 than Andy Reid’s squad, with the Houston Texans next at 14-1.
Following Thursday Night Football’s results, the New Orleans Saints have the second-best Super Bowl odds, and are the most likely NFC team to win the championship.
