- The New York Giants have agreed to trade star WR Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns.
- With the addition of Beckham to an already improving offense, the Browns' odds to win Super Bowl 54 have skyrocketed to 14-1 in Las Vegas.
According to the NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the New York Giants have agreed to trade star WR Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns. In return, the Giants will reportedly receive the Browns’ first round pick (No. 17 overall), their second third-round pick and S Jabril Peppers, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Cleveland, already a trendy team to contend for a playoff spot in 2019, should now have one of the most potent passing offenses in the league, giving QB Baker Mayfield a big-play threat to go along with WR Jarvis Landry.
Oddsmakers at Westgate in Las Vegas have certainly taken notice, moving the Browns’ Super Bowl 54 odds from 25-1 a little more than four hours ago to 14-1.
Since the start of the current NFL offseason, no team’s Super Bowl odds have improved more than the Cleveland Browns’. (They opened at 30-1 on Jan. 15.)
The Chiefs (6-1), Patriots (6-1), Rams (8-1) and Saints (8-1) are now the only NFL teams with better odds to win Super Bowl 54 than the Browns.
The Giants, on the other hand, appear to be in full rebuilding mode, as the trade sent their Super Bowl odds from 40-1 as of 4 p.m. ET Tuesday to 80-1 following the trade.
The Redskins, Bills, Bengals, Cardinals and Dolphins — all 100-1 at Westgate — are now the only teams that are bigger longshots to win Super Bowl 54 than the New York Giants.
