Vikings-49ers Projected Odds

Sean Koerner, The Action Network's director of predictive analytics, uses his NFL Power Ratings to project odds for this matchup.

  • Spread: 49ers -7.5
  • Over/Under: 45.5

Vikings Path to Divisional Round

  • Straight-Up Record: 10-6
  • Against the Spread Record: 9-7
  • Over/Under Record: 9-7

The Vikings were in the thick of the NFC North title race for much of the season, but were eventually outran by the Packers. Still, having locked-in the 6-seed before Week 17 afforded the Vikings the chance to sit certain starters for the regular-season finale.

That extra rest seemed to pay off as the Vikings pulled off an overtime upset of the 3-seeded Saints as 7.5-point underdogs in the Superdome on Sunday.

Now the Vikings draw the NFC No. 1 seed, the 49ers, who Kirk Cousins beat in his regular-season debut for Minnesota in 2018.

49ers Path to Divisional Round

  • Straight-Up Record: 13-3
  • Against the Spread Record: 8-7-1
  • Over/Under Record: 9-7

The 49ers were one yard away from a Week 17 loss in Seattle that would've made them the 5-seed. But their game-winning goal-line stand secured the Niners a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

This is their first postseason appearance since the 2013 season, when they followed up a Super Bowl appearance with a loss in the NFC title game.

Now they draw the 6-seeded Vikings, who they haven't faced since Week 1 of last season.
