Match #50: Uruguay vs. Portugal (Round of 16)

Result: Uruguay 2-1 Portugal

Moneyline: Uruguay +217
Spread: Uruguay Pick ‘Em (+114)

Uruguay took the very early lead within seven minutes through an Edinson Cavani goal, assisted by Luis Suarez.

Uruguay were up 1-0 until ten minutes after halftime, when Pepe headed home a goal to tie the game for Portugal. It was the first goal conceded by Uruguay the entire year.

The match wasn’t level for long, though. Edinson Cavani had to be subbed off late with an injury, but not before netting this curling game-winning goal in the 62nd minute.

Portugal kept the pressure on until the end but Uruguay survived to win it, 2-1. The quarterfinal against France will be Friday at 10 a.m. ET.

It capped a great day for public overs, both receiving more than 75% of bets. Uruguay closed with 47% of moneyline bets and 58% of spread bets.

Match #49: France vs. Argentina (Round of 16)

Result: France 4-3 Argentina

Moneyline: France +145
Spread: France -0.5 (+145)
Total: Over 2 (-116)

The match started slowly the first ten or so minutes, but the excitement never stopped after that.

France were awarded a penalty kick after a brilliant Kylian Mbappe run into the box to take a 1-0 lead. It stayed that way until deep into the first half when Argentina’s Angel Di Maria found the back of the net:

Shortly after halftime, Argentina took a shock lead on a deflection to go up 2-1. At that point, France were +650 to comeback and win the match.

France quickly responded less than ten minutes later on this wonderful hit from Benjamin Pavard to tie it 2-2:

It was France scoring again to take a 3-2 lead on a Kylian Mbappe goal in the box, and he added another just four minutes later to extend the lead.

France held on defensively for the remaining 20+ minutes to win it 4-3. They closed with 51% of moneyline bets.

The alternate over of 5.5 goals was listed at +3175. Any team to score 3+ goals was listed at +3200.
