MLB Props Tuesday | Chris Sale, Pete Alonso, Gunnar Henderson Bets

There are numerous MLB games on Tuesday's slate, which means there are plenty of MLB props to dive into.
I'll be looking to back Pete Alonso, Gunnar Henderson and Chris Sale, so let's dig right into today's MLB player prop picks.
MLB Props Tuesday (May 14)
- Pete Alonso Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (+100) DraftKings
- Gunnar Henderson Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105) DraftKings
- Chris Sale Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-105) DraftKings
When Pete Alonso connects, the ball usually goes a long way. He ranks in the 88th percentile in Barrel Rate and the 89th percentile in Bat Speed. He has homered 40 times in each of the past two years and already has nine this season. Alonso has just one home run in his past five games, but that hasn't stopped him from hitting this line.
Alonso has recorded two hits in four of his past five games, cashing this line with just hits. However, he also drove in a run in three of those games and scored a run in two. Alonso is averaging 3.6 Hits + Runs + RBI over that span.
Today, we only need two from him and he will be in a great spot against Aaron Nola. Alonso is 16-for-46 (.348) with three doubles, five home runs, 11 RBI and a 1.127 OPS against Nola in his career. Nola has allowed six earned runs in 9 2/3 innings in his past two starts after a strong April. He has also allowed seven home runs in 49 innings this season.
Alonso is also +500 on DraftKings to homer today. However, another multi-hit game from him will cash this combo.
Last night, Gunnar Henderson went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. He was not alone as the Orioles had just three hits in 10 innings. However, Henderson has still hit this line in three of his past five games. He homered in two of those games and is +450 on DraftKings to hit another tonight.
One trend not going in his favor is that he has recorded two total bases in just four of his past 14 games against Toronto. However, I'm still backing him tonight because one of those games was started by Chris Bassitt, who Henderson seems to love facing. Henderson is 3-for-6 with two home runs and five RBI against Bassitt in his young career. Bassitt also has a 5.06 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP. Most of the damage have come against left-handed bats, who are slashing .324/.427/.568 with three doubles and five home runs against him.
Henderson is tied second in baseball with 12 homers. We backed him three weeks ago against the Angels and he cashed this line. I like his chances of doing so again tonight in his home ballpark.
Chris Sale has been one of the most prolific strikeout artists of his generation and that hasn't changed in his first season in Atlanta. Sale has at least six strikeouts in all seven of his starts this season and has racked up 19 strikeouts over his past two starts.
Today's matchup isn't as sexy as the Cubs are 23rd in Strikeout Rate against left-handed pitchers. However, Sale has had less than advantageous matchups against the Diamondbacks, Rangers, Guardians and Marlins and still fared well. The last left-handed starter to hit his strikeout line against the Cubs was Jesus Luzardo, a high-strikeout pitcher like Sale.
Additionally, Sale is averaging 95.4 pitches per outing and has topped 100 three times and he fanned seven batters in all three of those. Sale has pitched six or more innings in four of his past five starts. If Sale pitches six innings tonight, I like his chances of recording seven strikeouts.
