Texans WR Tank Dell Suffers “Minor Wound” in Shooting

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was shot as an innocent bystander in a nightclub shooting early Sunday morning in Florida. Dell suffered a “minor wound” and has already been released from the hospital.

“We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford, Fla. last night,” the Texans said in a statement. “He sustained a minor wound but has been released from the hospital and he is in good spirits. We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate but we ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.”

The Seminole County Sheriff’s office revealed that 10 patrons at Cabana Live in Sanford were shot when a shooting broke out following a fistfight. None of the victims suffered a life-threatening injury, and a 16-year-old suspect is currently under arrest.

Dell had a tremendous rookie season last year after being selected in the third round out of the University of Houston. He caught 47 passes for 709 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games before suffering a season-ending fractured fibula in early December. He’s expected to be a key member of a deep wide receiver corps in 2024 that includes the newly-acquired Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins and Noah Brown.
