What a great two days of racing, whether it's cars or horses, we have on tap this weekend.

The Kentucky Derby takes place on Saturday evening, followed by NASCAR at Kansas and Formula 1 at Miami on Sunday afternoon.

We still have plenty of time to fill out our full betting cards for all three events, though NASCAR odds have already caught my eye for Sunday's AdventHealth 400 (3 p.m. ET, FS1) at Kansas.

Kansas is a popular track for NASCAR bettors because the surface wears out tires.

As a result, practice can be much more predictive here than what we see at many other tracks.

For this reason, there's no need to go ahead a hammer a bunch of outrights before we see cars hit the track on Saturday.

But a look at the latest NASCAR odds show Riley Herbst, who is driving Rick Ware Racing's No. 15 Ford this weekend, at the very bottom of the board.

Typically, I wouldn't think twice about this.

However, Herbst is a championship contender in the XFINITY Series for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) and has gotten support from that team in the past when making one-off Cup starts.

In layman's terms, this means that SHR may very well be helping Rick Ware Racing this weekend to ensure that Herbst has better equipment than what the No. 15 typically runs week in and week out.

Now, SHR support has yet to be officially confirmed for Herbst at Kansas, but I believe it's likely enough to warrant a bit of a gamble.

If, and it's a big if, SHR is helping out, Herbst's odds would be much shorter than his current 2500-1 price tag at Caesars based on equipment alone.

I'm not advocating to bet Herbst outright, but he is available at 30-1 odds (BetRivers) to score a top-10 finish, a low-risk, high-reward option should this car have more-than-expected speed, which isn't out of the question on Sunday.

And for those willing to get a little saucy, like myself, Herbst 200-1 (BetMGM) to finish as the top Ford is worth a sprinkle as well.

The bets: Riley Herbst (+3000) for a Top 10 Finish — BetRivers | +20000 for Top Ford — BetMGM
