ESPN BET Promo Code ACTNEWS: Earn $150 Bonus Bets & 200% Deposit Match in 17 States

ESPN BET Promo Code ACTNEWS: Earn $150 Bonus Bets & 200% Deposit Match in 17 States article feature image

ESPN BET's growing national footprint now includes North Carolina, but you can still get up to $650 in total bonus value in 17 other states where the sportsbook operates.

In 17 states, use promo code ACTNEWS for $150 in bonus bets with any wager, plus you'll get a 200% deposit match up to $500 in Eligible Cashback.

In North Carolina, use promo code ACTNEWSNC for $225 bonus bets, plus the same 200% deposit match.

Confused? We'll explain both parts of the offer below. These offers are available to new users physically located in any of those 18 states who have never had an account with a PENN sportsbook.

If you want to get verified at ESPN BET right away and not wait for approval, follow our sportsbook verification best practices.

How the 200% Deposit Match Works

One part of the offer is the 200% deposit match up to $500 in Eligible Cashback. We did a deep dive on the promo here, but here are the key points to know:

  1. Whatever you deposit, ESPN BET will double, up to $500 (which would be a $250 deposit). You can deposit more if you'd like, but $250 is the most you'll get a bonus for.
  2. You're not getting bonus bets — you're getting what they call "Eligible Cashback."
  3. The cashback unlocks 10% on every bet you place. So if you bet $50, you'll get $5 in cash added to your account. Again, it's real cash, not bonus bets.
  4. You keep earning cashback as you make bets until your cashback balance is gone, or 30 days is up. If you don't exhaust the whole balance, you do keep whatever you did unlock.
  5. Only bets that are -200 or longer count toward unlocking your balance. So you can't just place big bets on -10,000 favorites to hit the requirement.

How the Bet/Get Offer Works

ESPN BET's offer is one of the simplest on the market. Just make any cash wager, and you'll get $150 in bonus bets if you're in most states, or $225 if you're in North Carolina. We'll use the NCAA Tournament as an example for how it will play out.

Say I deposit $200 and put $20 on James Madison +200 against Wisconsin in the Round of 64 on Friday.

  • If JMU wins I'll profit $40 ($20 x 2.0), keep my $20 wager, and get the bonus bets.
  • If JMU loses, I lose my $20 cash but I'll still get the bonus bets.

ESPN BET will break your bonus bets up into $25 increments. You'll have seven days to use your bonus bets, and you keep any profit from those wagers, but not the stake of the bonus bet itself.

Say I take a $25 bonus bet and put it on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl at +600.

  • If K.C. does win the Super Bowl again, I'll profit $150 in cash ($25 x 6.0) but I don't keep the $25 bonus bet like I would with a normal cash wager.
  • If K.C. doesn't win it all, my bonus bet just goes away.

Your bet just has to be placed within seven days from when you get it. You have seven days to use them and they should hit your account almost immediately, though the terms and conditions say it can take up to 72 hours.

Where is ESPN BET Available?

ESPN BET is in the fifth-most states of any U.S. sportsbook, and North Carolina is their newest live state. PENN also bought WynnBet's New York license earlier this month, though we don't know when they'll launch in the Empire State.
