North Carolina sports betting is ready to launch on March 11 but new bettors are likely determining if it's worth it for them to register.

When does registration open for North Carolina sports betting and what are my best options?

You'll be able to register for sportsbooks before March 11, often for a bonus. However, I'd advise you to wait to sign up until their official offers come out on March 11, because often the pre-registration offers are worse than the actual ones. And often you won't be able to stack both promotions.

Once that day comes, though, you'll have eight North Carolina Sports Betting Apps to choose from.

  • FanDuel
  • DraftKings
  • Fanatics Sportsbook
  • ESPN BET
  • BetMGM
  • Caesars Sportsbook
  • bet365
  • Underdog Sports (official launch of Underdog's sportsbook)

For reference, during the last state launch in Vermont, FanDuel and DraftKings offered $5,000 risk free bets. Fanatics offered the same promotion that they do in every state — bet $100 for 10 straight days and receive up to $1,000 in free bets.

ESPN BET now has a new offer in which you receive $500 cashback for a $250 deposit. Watch here to see how that bonus structure works. It's a far different method than any other sportsbook.

There's a chance the book expands its offer for North Carolina.

What BetMGM or Caesars may offer is unclear. The last time BetMGM rolled out in a new state, their promotion was a dud. Caesars did a $1,500 risk free bet in Massachusetts its last launch.

bet365, meanwhile, unleashed a $2,000 risk free bet for the Super Bowl that has since been reduced to $1,000.

Underdog Sports is the real wild card here. This will be the first state that hosts this sportsbook, which had previously focused on daily fantasy sports.

Underdog has the opportunity to have the most lucrative promotion in the bunch, if they're smart about it.

If you intend to make wagers in North Carolina in the longterm, please make sure to sign up for all of these sportsbooks. The more options you have, the better prices you're going to get. And you can glean these new user promotions on top of getting the best bang for your buck in the long run.
